I was just about to shut down my computer this morning and my computer just froze. I got task manager open and explorer.exe was using 630k working memory,it normally runs at about 30k.
What caused this and how do I fix it? Or was it just a one time thing?
Thanks.

well what you could do is end the task then start a new task
and to start a new task just click file new task and put explorer.exe
when you do this make sure everything is spelled right
also when u delete explore.exe it will make your icons and toolbar disappear
but when you type it back in it will make everything come back

I've had a similar problem before on Vista and XP (I think). I'm pretty sure this is just a one-off thing, but if you find it happening again, reinstalling your OS is sure to do the trick.

Short-term solutions? As Marking said- kill the process and start it again. If this doesn't solve it, restart your PC.
