They worked fine last night but I just turned her on and they are not working.

It says down in the little corner by the clock over the speaker icon
it has an x and says " No Audio device installed "'

Now I have had this laptop since Xmas and had no problems until now.

Please I need some help, I need sound =(

thank you

Did you recently install anything? Sometimes programs like that can mess with your audio.

Can you check if your speakers are working in a Live CD of Ubuntu or some other OS that would have sound? It could be that the speakers are dead, though chances are the OS would think they were still there, but no sound would come out.

You could try uninstalling your drivers for the sound card, then reinstalling them. Go on Toshiba's website and look up the model number for your laptop. Find Sound drivers, and download them. Install the drivers after uninstalling the ones currently installed.

Have you tried doing this? It may seem odd but sometimes it can work!
They should be in this page: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp#
Just click "Download" on the horizontal menu bar and follow the steps.

I assume you've restarted your PC with no luck.

Firstly, turn some music on in something other than iTunes. Now go to Control Panel and then "Sound". Make sure you're in the "Playback" tab. What do you see here? Is there anything here? Do you see a moving green bar? A screen shot would be helpful, and I'll do my best to help you to a solution.

Check the sound drivers from Device Manager. Should have a notification there.
