help! runescape connection lag is driving me crazy!

Ok here is my problem.

while playing runescape members i have a 3-6 second response time when i move or do anything
and after about 5 to 10 minutes i loose connection and log out. i have had this problem for over 2 weeks.

i am on a laptop using shaw highspeed internet connected to a wireless linkys router/

i have tried choosing a less populated worlds and one closest to my location. i'v reset my router
a thousands of times and updated it. and my computer is 64bit and under 2months old.

i also cannot play rune scape on a web browser i have to use the down loadable client

if anyone can help me please comment. i am a big fan of rs but i cannot get past this problem.

When you say you've updated your router, do you mean you've reset it and configured it again or did you update the firmware? I had some lag issues that were resolved by updating the firmware on the router which was outdated. If your router is new, this probably isn't the problem.

I'm guessing that you're not all that close to your router, as the connection keeps stopping. Move closer to the router if possible.

Also try going to the command line (start => run => cmd) and type ' ping www.runescape.com ' without the quotations. Post your ping times here.

Try the same cmd code, but ping www.google.com, or some other site you can get to easily. Again, post the responses.

It could be that your ISP filters traffic over the pots that RuneScape needs to use, but usually that results in you not being able to be on at all. If you can open ports on your router, open port 45394 and port 45395, both of which are used for RuneScape.
