Anybody keeping up with the Stanley Cup this year? If you are who are you cheering for, personally i'm hoping the LA Kings can pull it off.

I was going to post "cue the come back" in the other cup thread last night but then LA tied it just as i brought the topic up lol

I'm not too interested in either team but I'm hoping for nj because of brodeur and because I didn't think la would even get this far and no one was choosing la until they became the favourites like after the second round and because coming back from down 3-0 in the final is more exciting than a sweep

*I* was rooting for LA from round 1. Admittedly that's cause they was playing the canucks and i never figured they'd win it at that point but once they sweeped vancouver i figured they'd make the finals.

Can't see devils coming back. Kings are just better. They deserve to win it.

I think Brodeur's age started to show in game 3, i really thought NJ was going to pull him.

I don't know, the first 2 goals were definitely not his fault but I was paying more attention to the pool table than the game I guess. XD
He deserves to retire on a huge note though. XD Like if they come back to win it he should retire right then.

Do you guys really think he should retire? The guys in the stanley cup finals admittedly that's not 100% down to him but if the flyers/penguins proved anything it's that if your nettie is crap you wont get very far. Seems to me like the age isn't holding him back all that much.

No reason to think he can't do another season?

If the Devils come back and win the cup I think he should retire on top, but if they lose I really don't care. I leave that decision to him and the Devils organization.

He can do more seasons but then you'll probably retire on an exit from the playoffs or maybe even a playoffless year. If they don't win then yeah keep going but if they do it would be a great finale to a great career. I don't really care about new jersey, their fault if they haven't done much for when he is gone.
I heard Hasek wants to try and come back for another season. XD

Yes, if they come back and win the cup he should retire. Nothing would beat going out as a champ, what more does he have to prove. If LA wins i see him returning for a few more seasons.

He's officially over the hill now at 40. I'd rather see him retire now because even if he has 1 or 2 solid seasons in him you don't want this to turn into another Brett Favre situation were it tarnishes his reputation.

It was kind of sad to see Brodeur go out like that last night, 6 goals had to hurt his pride. The officials missed some major calls on both sides but hats off to the Kings, their playoff run was impressive and a well deserved Stanley Cup.

Time for Carter and Richards to go bankrupt the Kings at the After-Party. :P
