In my area we have an Amazon.com warehouse that is quickly earning a bad reputation. Horrible working conditions, with employee's passing out because of the heat. In fact, during the summer during certain days they have to have an ambulance sitting outside just in case an employee suffers heat exhaustion. Here is an article from my local newspaper that goes into detail about the situation.

I worked numerous jobs in warehouse's when I was younger, and never encountered the conditions described in Amazon's. I've always been a huge fan of Amazon.com and their success, but now I see them in a much more negative light. I hope it's not like this in the other amazon warehouses.

The scary thing is, earlier this year I was considering taking on a second job at amazon to make some extra money. I'm in decent physical shape, but have nowhere near the endurance I had when I was in my 20's. My body can take allot of abuse, but the conditions described at amazon make's me doubt whether I would have been "just another victim".

And yet, in this economy, any job is still good sadly.

A great company? Really? I've completely boycotted them. They **** me off. They constantly advertise things as in stock on there website and when you order you suddenly find yourself having to wait 7 days because it's not really in stock at all.

This is all the more frustrating if you've payed for delivery. Want to cancel? For every other website it's a click of a button if it's not yet been shipped from the factory. With amazon? **** that you have to wait for them to send it to you. Then you have to send it back to them. Then you finally get refunded your money. It'll only take 3 weeks or so.

I hate amazon.

That's really awful but you may as well boycott companies like EA and Rockstar. During crunch time for Red Dead Redemption, developers were working every day of the week for 12 hours. Oh, and because they're salaried workers, they don't get overtime.

In the end, I think laws are going to be more effective in stopping this problem than boycotts. Look at Walmart. They treat their employees like ****, yet see huge profits.
