In my area we have an Amazon.com warehouse that is quickly earning a bad reputation. Horrible working conditions, with employee's passing out because of the heat. In fact, during the summer during certain days they have to have an ambulance sitting outside just in case an employee suffers heat exhaustion. Here is an article from my local newspaper that goes into detail about the situation.
http://bit.ly/ovAAFDI worked numerous jobs in warehouse's when I was younger, and never encountered the conditions described in Amazon's. I've always been a huge fan of Amazon.com and their success, but now I see them in a much more negative light. I hope it's not like this in the other amazon warehouses.
The scary thing is, earlier this year I was considering taking on a second job at amazon to make some extra money. I'm in decent physical shape, but have nowhere near the endurance I had when I was in my 20's. My body can take allot of abuse, but the conditions described at amazon make's me doubt whether I would have been "just another victim".
