remember in the past when dell laptops would blow up.

seems dell knew they would fail, or at least many of their computers

All I can say is that I'm not surprised. Having said that, we own two Dells: a laptop and a desktop, and neither have had any problems, although they are only 6 and 18 months old, respectively.

Shame on dell employees for knowing that the computers were faulty. Serves them right for having a class-action lawsuit against them. That's why i have a HP laptop. Although, HP in itself don't exactly have a clean track record themselves (screen problems, hard drive failure, just to name a few).
