Is anyone else here a fan of Doctor Who? What do you think of David Tennant leaving and Matt Smith taking his place?

I'm a massive fan of doctor who classic and the brand new (I have got all the availible classics on dvd so far), I'm actually quite sad that David is leaveing, as he was a good Doctor, and I dont think watching Matt Smith will seem the same, and that he wont live up to the reputation, of David.

Massive fan of old and new. Not a fan of Smith right now but I'm willing to give him a shot.

Tennant was just very good at the serious moments and Smith just has such a baby face I can't see him pulling it off without coming across..as..well a teen being angsty. And that's what i liked about the new DH the doctor puts up a happy go lucky, relaxed, fun image but hes just really angry and sad deep down and it's great when it comes up.

Tho with all that said it's not all that fair to judge i suppose after all this is all we've really seen of smith so far. And he hasn't got a chance in hell of being appreciated there what with DT putting on that awesome death.

The Beeb released a new advert for it today actually i dunno if non-UK residents can see it tho;

Rather crap i think. Although i do approve of the new sidekick. Finally managed to find an average everyday type of sidekick who's not a complete **** chav. I mean look shes falling through a freaking time vortex in a really short skirt and she still manages to keep it under control. What a lady. If it was billy piper you'd be blinded for a week. ;D Coming back next month! Judgement day for Matt Smith. :P

God I'm such a dork.

I'm a big Doctor Who fan, as well as a big Torchwood fan :D .
I love David Tennant's acting. He always had that irreplaceable positive attitude.

Still can't say if the new doctor is good or not. Haven't seen the new season yet because in my country we're still in Season 4...

Originally they had the idea of making an American version of Who but figured you guys wouldn't...take to it. Torchwood seemed a better fit because the lead is American. And for once i find myself agreeing. Torchwood is much more serious and action packed at times. Who is more wacky, bizarre and over the top. That and they can explain it away by saying Torchwood opened up another Branch in America where as having two doctors running about wouldn't make much sense and despite how crazy the universe is they do seem to like to stick to the lore of the show.

Did hear the Captain Jack was going to star..i hope not that'd mean the end of Torchwood UK/a replacement. Still..new season coming for that too this year. ;D
