I think this is a list of all the people who have gotten the prize so far. I don't have time to read it myself atm but maybe it can help you.

Use this Quote by Christopher Hitchens, a well known polemicist...

President Obama and the Nobel Peace Prize is the first virtual award: "It's like giving someone an Oscar in the hope that it will encourage them to make a decent motion picture."

Your all right! I'm sure Obama got the noble peace prize just for existing!
I mean, it's not like he's trying to stop 2 religious groups from creating WW3!
And something about Afghanistan and Iraq and stopping the wars...

Your right! Absolutely nothing of merit.

You do know WW stands for world war right? A bunch of third world countries killing each other isn't a world war in my book. And key word being "trying" from what I've seen hes done nothing. At all.

And if anything, stopping the work in Iraq/Afghanistan now is accepting defeat and leaving them to civil war. That's hardly worthy of a noble peace prize being responsible for thousands of deaths because he pulled out.

The mans got a lovely speech writer I'll give him that but I'll wait for him to do something before singing his praises.

I'm pretty sure at least one of those "3rd world" countries has nuclear weaponry. I don't know about you but I think someone launching a nuke at someone else would spell WW3.
You can't try without doing something, now can you? Otherwise it'd be "not trying".

They are already in a civil war: we're just jumping in front of the bullets.

Oh, and a nice percent have gotten the award for their efforts. If you'd like to use the idea of "efforts don't count", then I suggest you expand your scope to include those people as well.

Nuclear weaponary doesn't make a country. See north korea. And someone DID launch a nuclear bomb at another country. Dropped it right on a city actually. It ended a war.

There already in a civial war because of us. XD They had a rather **** up man in power before we arrived who kept them all in check. You know the guy, he murdered several of his own family members if i recall correctly but he kept the country in line. Course if they are jumping in front of bullets there sort of asking for it. Train em up better.

The problem is Obama was nominated before he was put in power. He didn't make an effort, he didn't -do- anything. For all we know he could of became president and fired nuclear missles in all directions.

So your saying if Obama launched a nuke at London, that the UK WOULDIN'T declare war with us?
I'm fairly sure that preventing nukes form going of in ANY event is peace.

It's irrelevant if they're in a civil war BECAUSE of us. And Obama didn't start the war, now did he? If we actually took a side in their war, THEN we could stay, but currently, we're saying "hello" to the person making car bombs.

That's all well and good but the question is "Who deserved a nobel peace prize for promoting peace?"

Mary Poppins. She doesn't actually exist but she said a lot of nice things and sung a lot of preachy songs so that makes her about level with the other candidates.
