After you die...

What would you like to have done to your body? Would you like to be cremated, buried, or something else? Personally, I'd like to be cremated and then buried. I don't like the idea of my ashes being scattered nor do I like the idea of my body rotting in a wooden casket, to be eaten by worms and insects.

What about you, and why?

I never really though about it, really. I suppose since I'm afraid of being cramped in a small spot, I don't want to be buried. But I hate thinking of being burned to a crisp. But I don't know, really. I know since I'll be dead I won't feel anything, I'm still afraid of being cramped into a box. And I seriously hate fire.

I suppose it'd have to be cremated then buried. I don't want to be poured into a vase to look nice, either.

Cremated, I always have the fear of being buried alive.

Or I could do what Elanor Roosavelt did, and have my major veins cut to make sure I die....

They aren't careless anymore they only bury you after there's obvious signs of death, like decomposition.

And I'd prefer to be buried then at least there's still a part of me, I wouldn't want someone I know to just burn to nothing.

Interesting question .. it's not pleasant knowing that stuff could be eating your body after you leave it. Could have it donated to science but .. that sounds too creepy for me. I'll just go with the generic casket, tombstone, and six feet under

I quite honestly don't know/care.

If there was something interesting about me I'd donate my body to science (on top of being an organ donor). Otherwise I guess I'll have an ordinary casket 6 feet under funeral? They are costly, I'd actually be fine with my family digging a hole in the backyard and burying me themselves. XD

i would like to be cremated but that creates a lot of pollution, i'd rather just be buried and left the earth take me. no grave and all that. i don't want to be buried and have a a spot in the ground. why waste the space on the ground just to be able to leave a casket when you'll just decompose and leave probably only bones.

i've seen how full the cemetery is in the area and thought i don't want to be buried just so i would have a spot and stay there for a while for no reason.

I want to be buried in a crypt, i have a phoboa about waking up 6 feet under the ground, so if i do wake up in a crypt i can walk right out.

Hmm.
I was thinking about what is going to happen when there's simply just not enough space for more graves. Graveyards are becoming crowded, the population is increasing, and on top of that we still have people that died hundreds of years ago still taking up space. So I don't know how that's going to work.

I'd probably want to be cremated and buried somewhere important to me/beautiful. Maybe with a small headstone somewhere, but if that's not possible, oh well.
I'm thinking about something by a tree with a nice view. Maybe with a body of water in view from the spot I'm buried in.
That way, if family comes to visit me, they'll be surrounded by something beautiful, and not just a place cramped with a lot of headstones/mourning families, etc.
