If we look at our own arms deals, we are reinforcing our own positions against other powers, like selling weapons to Pakistan (against India) and Saudi Arabia (against Iran).
I am very surprised that Saudia Arabia is buying weapons from the US for use against Iran for 2 reasons. 1, they're both Muslim countries, and Saudi Arabia is known to give aid to other Muslim countries, be it financial or military, when the need arises - If **** hit the wall with Iran, i would assume that the Saudi Arabians would side with them. 2, Saudi Arabia is a very rich country, sitting on massive oil stockpiles; I'd assume they wouldn't
need to buy weapons from the US.
I'd assume the same with Pakistan minus the Muslim part as India isn't Muslim, but add, the last time people in the west were at war with India was when the British Empire was expanding into it about 2-300 years ago. Since when has contact with India been strained?
I'd like a little bit of source which explains these for me, if you could.
