Do you believe in life on other planets?

I was going to just make this topic title "ALIENS" and see who decided to post, but then chose not to.

Basically, do you believe in life in other parts of the universe?

Well theres water on Mars.

And if theres water on mars, that's two planets in our galaxy alone that have water confirmed. And it looks like it has the right conditions needed for life, with the acception of the sun of course.

So with that said, yes. Intelligent? No. But some form of life tiny little spec of a life form? Yeah.

there are just too many planets out there for there not to be

Given the sheer size of the universe, an arbitrary chance of 1 in 100,000,000,000 planets being able to support life of some form would still give millions of suitable planets. Therefore i think it's ridiculous to assume that there is no life on any other planet.

but for as humans i say no

There has to be life on another planet ... so the question isn't if, but when we discover it. Of course we might not get there due to politics or a giant asteroid destroying the Earth, and it might not be discovered in my lifetime, but I think we can safely say that it's out there.

Really, if there is no life in the whole galaxy, then galaxy fails I mean, there are about 10^798740138 planets, and we're the lucky ones, stuffing ourselves with a fat hanburger and smoking cigarettes? Meh...

That's much harder to guess really. Just how big is it out there? Who knows. Just how many planets have the ability to support life? Who knows.

If theres intelligent life why have we heard nothing? Is it cause it's to big or is it simply because there is no advanced life form out there?

I'd like to assume, if we ever got advanced enough to travel through space, we'd have some way of mapping it, some way of knowing where we was going and where we are. In fact we do, we map the sky's. So it's safe to assume if there was an advanced life form it'd know about us, right? Yet we've heard nothing, maybe we've just been looked over but we've tried in the past to make contact, we've sent out radio waves and got nothing.

So i don't think theres any, super powerful alien out there, perhaps some form similar to us or less advanced maybe, that's totally possible.

I'd like to think there was advanced races out there thinking about it..perhaps it's simply not possible to travel through space effectively, it's a waste land after all, big nothingness and once in awhile you come across a planet, perhaps there just isn't a means of powering space travel on this planet or another planet.

I think that there is certainly some form of life, intelligent or not, on other planets. To be honest, I think that any chance of us finding life as close to us as mars would be highly unlikely. Why? Mainly because it would stretch the conditions for life to exist a bit much. Mars is dry, ice and water only exist in specific areas and even then it'll be a long shot. Life in the form of plants, animals and bacteria wouldn't survive in small amounts and would need a vast amount of water and oxygen (or carbon dioxide) if we're going by what life requires on this planet. So if we're ever to find life on a planet, I think it'll be fairly obvious which planet they're on. It'll look like Earth, not a giant red ball of dust.
