So am i the only one that believes halo 3 really did have an affect on it?
I honestly think it hit Hollywood and i think there spot on.
Ask yourself - when was the last time a film wow'ed you? When was the last time you went into a film and was completely blown away by it? WHEN was the last time you was watching a film and was literally tense and on the edge of your seat cause of it?
I really couldn't answer that. Cause i really don't remember. I know Halo wow'ed me, when those two scarabs dropped down and the huge fight was going on, with the music playing. That was a wow moment.
I know in bioshock when Atlas family was in the sub i was on the edge of my seat urgently trying to help and then being wow'ed by what happened next.
Films just don't cut it, they don't have the..it's hard to explain, they just don't shock or surprise you anymore. SOMEONE needs to come in and shake things up, there far to dull compared to video games right now.
It's a completely larger problem that I don't think is greatly impacted by video games. People overall just don't go out to see a film. Why? Because it's expensive, you might not even like it, and you could get it readily off of any BitTorrent site. Sure, I also find video games to be more compelling but the majority of the movie revenue losses aren't due to a bunch of kids sitting at home playing Halo 3. It's caused by a mass amount of people who don't want anymore of the crap that the movie industry is shovelling to them.
