Woot finally they came

yup, finally my cable company "mediacom" came out to take a look at the recent small problems ive been having with the net, and cable tv.. They found that in 3 parts of the outside cable, was almost completely destroyed and cut in half..lol

They replaced it. and this is the result of the increase on my internet. I used to get constant download speeds are 350-450KBp/s (kilobytes, not bits)

my results have increased from 2500 bandwith to 5000-6500 in some tests. now my download speeds, if im connected to a good server, will be constant at 600-1000KBp/s (possibly higher, havent tested yet)

so that makes me one happy chap.

my money is finally being put to good use with it now.

Mine did 925kb and it took 6.53 seconds. 1meg in 6 seconds isn't bad in my book.

thats your bandwith connection, not how much you can download at.

means you have a 5+meg connection.. recently my cable company updated most of their stuff to fiber optics. So increase in speed for me.

some people may be connected at 10mb's but may not even download at 200KB\s. trust me i would know

I ran my again this time on an English host and it came up near 2meg.

well its good, the thing is, you selected the 340kb test i think, the problem with those is that sometimes when you start a download of something it goes really fast but then slows down really fast..

Sometimes when i have downloaded things on a website, they started at 1200kb\ps then quickly dropped to 300-500

so a small KB bandwith test isnt extremely accurate, the 700kb+ tests would be more accurate.

3000+ is generally good. Most isps latelyhave updated to 5megs+ and fiber optics.
