Slovenia were dirt poor in the second half. But this does set up a more interesting end to the group. USA now only have to beat the weakest team in the group - Algeria - and then it's all down to what happens in the England Vs. Slovenia match (assuming England wins vs. Algeria tonight). An England/Slovenia draw and a USA win would mean all 3 of those teams would have 5 points, so it would go down to goal difference. England/Slovenia draw and USA/Algeria draw.. England and Slovenia go through.. England win, America win, America and England go through.

And with Serbia beating Germany today.. it's far from certain who will finish top of that group and subsequently play the #2 in England's group.

Angryy. Got home an hour later than I was supposed to and missed most of it. On the plus side i saw two lezzers getting off with each other on the way home but still.

Tho looking at the **** score i didn't miss much.

Feel rthe need to repeat this now;

I don't know much about soccer, but I really don't see what stopped this from being a goal. Any more knowledgeable opinions on it?

Too much shoving. I doubt he had a good view to see what was happening. The british commentators meantioned he had a zero tolerance thing going on and any sign of trouble and he blew the whistle.

Ogres never know when to shut up. I'd have done more than boo if i spent thousands of pounds to get out there and have your lazy *** not just under perform but not even show up.

Wow that is ridiculous...Maybe this is only in high school but doesnt the ref HAVE to give a explanation for a foul that he calls?

Italy drew 1-1 with NZ. This is one weird world cup.. none of the big countries (Brazil, Argentina, Italy, France, England, Germany, Spain) are playing at their best. France are most likely out.. England are close to going out and Germany and Italy will probably only limp into the second round. The one team that bucks up and starts to play up to its potential will probably have the best chance. My money is on one of the South Americans (Brazil or Argentina).

I'm thinking Argentina are gonna do well, as long as they haven't peaked yet. I hope England go through, purely so I can have something to look forward every so often and have a bit of hope for a football team. I think once it gets to the knockout stages, teams might buck their ideas up and it won't be such a strange world cup.
