I personally say car is better. Sure it pollutes and costs money in gas but in 5-10 years were gonna have cars that run on water and electric. Honda or Toyota has already released a car that runs on electricity and water. Barely any pollution. I think this is the way of the future tbh. I think cars are better but that may very well be that i really dont live extremely close to places i want to go. O well. I put in my "2 cents"

Obviously there's a problem with pollution if they even have to design those cars. Of course I don't want to offend the laziness of this thread and the posters so I'll keep this short. Why the hell would you want to waste the time to get into your car, start it, pull out of your house, and drive to your destination when you can jump on a bike, pedal, TAKE SHORTCUTS TO THE DESTINATION, and arrive.
In the end, the bike can actually be faster than the car.

You can attach the lock to the bike and lock it up whenever you want.

So you can walk some more? What was the purpose of the bike in the first place?

not suree if anyones said this but you gotta park a car mate. parking a car is like locking up bike, but bikes have more parking spaces. therefore thats better than a car in that aspect.

Best response so far.

It all depends on where you live. For example, I live in suburban Houston and we have absolutely no decent public transportation and everything is too spread out for a bike to be effective. Therefore, I use my car much more than I would use my bike.

On the other hand, in cities like NYC, Chicago, and DC, which have amazing subway/metro/el systems it isn't worth the effort to drive through congested traffic. You can pratically get anywhere you want to faster and cheaper.

As for the argument between cars and motorbikes, I prefer cars. It's really up to personal preference anyway, both can be used effectively, but both can also eat through a tank of gas in no time if you want to; it all depends on the driver.

I live in a very small town compared to pretty much everyone else, so I can get anywhere I need to by bike quickly enough - it can be about half an hour from one side to the other. Plus I feel like I never get out for any other exercise so it's best for me. :P

Course, if I need to get somewhere quickly, there's no substitute for the car. Hence because I can never get up early enough in the morning (8am ftw) I always get a ride to school, but sometimes walk home.

Luckily for me, I know I'd be able to make lifestyle changes in order to make my life work fine without a car, since it's just a matter of speed to get places. ;)
