Well actually out jaw and teether evolved to eat meat. Humans were originally only herbivores.
Alright, I'm going to step in the 5 foot deep puddle that is this discussion.
I don't know why people think that the way that human beings
were is a good thing. Just because humans were vegetarians at the time doesn't mean that it is our ideal diet that we should revert back to. In fact, if we ate the exact same things we ate those thousands of years ago then we'd probably be malnourished since there weren't lovely varieties of vitamin-rich veggies that we pick up at the market. Think about it back then.. when humans were primate-like and they had their appendices to digest vegetation. They were herbivores out of necessity since they couldn't very well go and make steak and eggs.
Humans adapted to eating meat because it obviously offered them the energy that green-growth on bushes couldn't. It's one thing to say that eating meat is morally wrong, or barbaric. But strictly speaking, humans adapted to eat meat because it had an advantageous result.
