An awkward question.

Honestly if the child were to be born with something severe as autism I would put it out of it's misery before it had to live with it, but if I were to have a kid with Diabetes I wouldn't kill the baby. Diabetes is something that can be coped with throughout their live even thought it would be annoying.

No, I'd only ever consider termination if the disease or condition was so severe it would make the child suffer a great deal of pain and suffering and prevent it from living a happy life (although on reflection a statement like that is highly subjective), otherwise I'd happily care for it no matter what condition it had.

No I couldn't live with that known. To kill someone just because of who they is pretty messed up. I'm way to good at heart to kill someone just because of something they can't control is way to unbearable.

If the child had such a severe disease such as harlequin ichthyosis, or something similar, I would definitely consider it, seeing as if the child usually doesn't survive longer than a few days.

Well, in america, im preety sure obama supports abortion, but if the child was fully developed and kicking around in the womb, then it should be born. if it wasn't then the question gets raised whether or not it is in fact, a human being at all.

In my honest opinion, i think children should be born regardless of wether or not they have a disease. It would be awful if they weren't able to have a life.

The foetus is not even considered alive untill the brain begins to develop and it has a sense of self in my eyes. If your point of view is that you are stopping a potential life by aborting the child, then contraception is equally as bad surely?

I think the question being posed is less debating the ethics or lack thereof of abortion and more questioning whether you'd want a child to be born with possible serious health problems.

I wouldn't have the child if it had down syndrome or something like that where the child would stay mentally a child until he or she died. Also, the child would die early, usually in their 30s I think and I couldn't deal with that. I'm already depressed as **** thinking that my dog is going to die in about 10 years, I couldn't raise a child like that and let him/her go so early.

I have autism so i find this difficult to answer as i do not know if it's worth not living, if it's severe i could not take a life so no i wouldn't do it simply for moral reasons

Assuming I was to know with no way to correct it I would end the pregnancy. If I had a genetic defect I would choose to not reproduce. Why have something bad when it can be avoided? It's fine as long as it's done in the same way as an abortion I feel.

If we had the ability however, I would correct it.

to what extent would you allow the pregnancy to continue, i have aspergers and life can get hectic socially so i was just curious
