Election '08

Sounds like the usual fear mongering GOP tactics to me. Why exactly do you believe Obama equals a lack of freedom?

It's such a shame the most powerful country in the world is about to be taken over by one of these two people. McCain is far too old to be any sort of president, and has a complete nutter as vice, and Obama is too young, has little clue about politics, and is a defender of the extremist.

Obama's taxing policies are dreadful, and McCain's are worse, and yet Under McCain we're going to have a nice drop in petrol prices, and economies will steady themselves a lot faster.

Both have an awful stance on the Iraq situation, how people can assume that occupying that country is going to help anyone I don't know. I'd just get every last man out of there and let them settle it themselves. Obama is going to gradually pull out of Iraq, and send all of his troops into more unknown territory, after a small group with little intel, on the basis of revenge, whereas McCain is keeping the troops in Iraq, even though Pakistan and Afghanistan are becoming major strongholds for resistance.

I will agree that overall I'd have to go with Obama, entirely because of the healthcare policy, reducing healthcare costs, whereas McCain is basically saying, "Screw you, you get ill, deal with it."

Sad state of affairs really.

I don't know what the US Green Party is like, but if it's anything like our own, jesus christ don't give them any power. Absolute bunch of crazies. One of their policies is to make the roads outside of houses a safer place, pushing the speed limit down to 20mph. How the hell that is going to help anyone I don't know, children don't play on roads to begin with, and if they do, they deserve to be run over.

I guess all I have to wait for is the "I told you so's" as the next few years play out.

Well, Obama won, now talk a bit about it and then please shut it, really, everyone is obsessed with it, it's like subconsciously accepting USA as the leader of the world... . America is falling, and no change (exept billions) can stop it. It's how the world is, every superpower has it's demise.

Those who did not vote (especially you 'Republicans') for Obama needs to accept the fact that he won by a landslide electoral votes, majority popular vote, and majority states. It's a clear sign that the people have "Bush/Republican" fatigue. Wake up people.

On the other hand, Obama now has a mandate, so he better not screw this up.
