Ah, a world without religion

I'm talking more about the Crusades back in the Middle Ages.

I think the violent Muslims (Note not the peaceful ones) are just retards who can't accept other people not following their religion. That's what I mean when I say Faith and Religion are different. Faith is when a person sincerely believes into whatever he believes in and accepts others not believing into it. He can still preach and stuff but accepts it when a person declines him. Religious people just follow their religion because that's what their parents/grandparents did and try to force people into coming onto their beliefs and whoever doesn't is a person to either avoid or someone to kill.

NO, thats radical Muslims. They give all teh rest of the Muslims a bad name, which is really sad.

Also, it is impossible to ban religion in the USA, thats what we are built from.

For the question, personally, religion gives me a purpose of being on Earth other than ... advancing our race and dying off eventually, I guess. I'd rather be here believing in religious stuff and dying knowing that I followed it, than just knowing I was another one of the millions of people helping humans advance (not all people do, but you could argue about that as well I guess). Don't get me wrong, I'll help humanity, but I'd rather not live and die with just that purpose.

If we didn't have religion starting now, people would just find excuses to do things other people don't like is my guess. Politics, for example? Although they could be changed immensily without religion as a factor.

In my life, no religion wouldn't really effect me, it wouldn't make my world a better place, but it might for a lot of people. If there never was religion, the most I would see is super markets or whatever where churches would have been. It's too hard to say what I'd believe without it.

Ironic though .. we're learning about the Puritans in english .. their beliefs help them survive at first, but they eventually die off around the 6th generation due to, well, their religion (predestination, salem witch trials, sin being 'vain entertainment' or having fun perhaps). Maybe they'd be alive if it weren't for religion.

I'm not trying to start a flame war, that's just what I'm thinking about. Too bad we all can't be friends :/

To be honest threads like this tend to be made just to annoy religious people but hey, who am I to suggest such a thing.

Personally I think that, generally, people who still believe religion is the ultimate evil bent on controlling the world through violence should reanalyse everything around them and realise the sole reason wars and the like are started, is because of Money, Power, and Greed. No more, no less. Argue any differently and you're confusing two seperate things. In the overly sensitive world of today it's only obvious religion and race are used as excuses, because those in charge like to be politically correct.

Hey Bud, no need to get testy. Again, I didn't say it would resolve the discrimination against homosexuals, it would just help.

I believe everyone should believe whatever they want. If you believe in God, cool. I don't, which is also fine. I just don't like people discriminating against something they don't really believe in.
