In game advertising? What do you think?

Those companies PAID the game big bucks for product placement.

People are just trying to get them to buy other stuff. There isn't anything wrong with that, unless its for alcohol/cigs/etc.

I rather buy things of my free will rather than being targeted. I hardly watch TV because of it, I don't want to see it in my games and I don't know why people are fine with that.

I never notice this, it just blends in with the scenery. Dosent bother me.

Unless the ads ruin gameply it really doesn't matter. Those companies did pay money for those ads and it does actually add something to the gameplay. It makes some games seem more realistic because in real-life you would be seeing those ads there as well.

Billboard adds and such in a game and setting like that make the game seem more realistic. I think it's quite good, actually. It's not in your face, as you said you didn't notice it for quite a while, thinking it was part of the landscape. They wouldn't, however, fit in a game like Gears of War, or Call of Duty 3.
