I don't think that being in a vegetative state counts as being alive. Sure, technically you are alive, but since you can't move/speak/eat/etc. I consider it being dead.

But, its amazing that she lived. I would be incredibly happy that I lived through such a thing.

Well...I still consider that if you are alive, you are alive. People who are in commas for years and come out of it eventually are usually glad they are still alive. If I was in a vegetative state with a chance of regaining my abilities, I'd still want to be alive. But that's just me. :wink:
