But what did such a Teuton afterwards look like when he had been "improved" and led into a monastery? Like a caricature of a human being, like an abortion: he had become a "sinner," he was in a cage, one had imprisoned him behind nothing but sheer terrifying concepts... There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. In short, a "Christian"... - Twighlight of the Idols

Yeah Oblivion is a great game. If its not your type then I'd suggest getting Dead Rising. They're both awesome games.

Dead Rising is worth it as long as it isn't $60 anymore. Shadowrun if you like MP games like CS. Saint's Row if you like GTA style. (I think it's around $30) Guitar Hero II since it obviously kicks so much ***! As for upcoming games, I would give a look at:

Call of Duty 4
Assassins Creed
Mass Effect
Kane and Lynch
Guitar Hero III

Also, Hitman: Blood Money is a good game and at Walmart it's probably around $20.

EDIT: Next January, Fallout 3 is gonna kick some *** if you like FPS/RPG.

DeadRising good if you like sandbox games, it's a classic now too so it's cheap.

COD4 is gunna be worth a preorder too. :P

dead rising imo is the most fun single player game ive ever played, i completed it 5 times on every mode before i even owned a 360, down various friends houses and i still wanna buy it.

Crackdown is fun, but its a bit easy and when its completed and you got 5* ratings in all your skills it gets boring.

condemned is one amazing game too, its the only game thats actually managed to scare me since resident evil nemesis (that bit in the police station where he jumped through the window with a rocket launcher scared me when i was about 10)

guitar hero never gets old, but i wouldnt bother if you dont like rock/metal because ost ofthe songs on there are rock and metal.

hitman blood money is good if youre patient enough, im not so i didnt buy it. whenever i play it down mates houses i just run in and massacre everyone, not really a "hitman" method.

rainbow 6 vegas is supposed to be good, and has good online play too. not got it myself buy gonna buy it with a 2 for £20 deal with dead rising soon.

ill add to this list my small reviews if i can think of any more games that are worth buying.

Condemned is alright but it's more of a rent really, once you've played through it once or twice theres not much to it.

It is scary as hell though, bloody made me cry out and swear a lot.

Forgot to meantion crackdown, i loved that one but at the time Co-Op was alive and i had lots of friends playing so it was always a laugh, dunno how popular it is these days though but rocket tag is a blast if you set rules (like no killing each other, cause that just auto makes the other guy win. XD).

Yeah crackdowns good if you have people playing with you + imagination.

There bringing out Half Life "the orange box" or something, that looks pretty interesting. It's like 3 games packed into one i believe..with 100 achievements.

If you don't mind waiting, i'd really suggest you hold off unless you have money to waste cause there is a lot of big hitters coming out in the next few months that you wont want to miss. :P
