Hmm. It doesnt say Microsoft will be buying Yahoo, just that they are in talks.
[EDIT: Yeah, they are looking to buy Yahoo. I found a
different article]
If they do, though, what will we have, seriously? Microsoft may be big, but people are going off Windows
fast, especially after hearing about things like the fact that
if you install software Vista doesnt like, it could stop working completely after three days. And it's safe to say that Windows Live is a fantasticly horrible failure. More than 50% of Microsoft's Employees who actually make Windows Live Search use google as their primary search engine. Compare that to 100% of google employees using google.
And amongst people who actually know anything, Yahoo sucks. Google is far superior in terms of their search and their email, and while I dont use them, google calendar, spreadsheets and word processor are probably incredibly useful for people who want to throw a document or spreadsheet together in a browser-based interface.
So, everyone, what happens when you add one pile of sh*t to another pile of sh*t? Thats right, a bigger pile of sh*t.
If the software world turns into a battle between Microsoft & Yahoo and Apple, Google & Adobe, I know who I'm siding with.
