Muse - The Resistance

Any other massive Muse fans out there?

Muse's fifth studio album, 'The Resistance' is finally here after 3 years since BHaR was released. The album is officially released on the 15th in the US and the 14th in the UK. But, it has been leaked onto the internet and people who pre-ordered copies through Muse's website are starting to receive them.

After a couple of listens through the album myself, I am loving it so far. It is close to the level that Absolution and Origin of Symmetry were. Some of Muse's best rock songs and some of their most epic songs are on this album. It is their most complete and over the top album so far IMO. The Exogenesis symphony is staggering and undoubtedly the most ambitious thing Matt has ever written.

Never really been a big fan. Never actually listened to a whole album through by them. Not really a fan of his voice. Uprising was pretty good tho I'll probably sit down and check this one out just to see if there sound has changed at all.

I'm waiting for my copy to come through the post from Play.com. I haven't heard any of the other songs other Uprising and I'm gonna keep it that way till I get my CD

Good choice, CD quality is always much better than when you download it. Always want that first listen to be as good as possible.

Anyhow, I've had the album for good three days now, gotta say it's amazing and probably Muse's greatest album yet - though I can't say for sure as I usually love a new album to death for a while until I start judging it properly.

And as for my order of preference;
1. Resistance
2. MK Ultra
3. Guiding Light
4. Exogenesis
5. United States of Eurasia
6. Unnatural Selection
7. Undisclosed Desires
8. Uprising
9. I Belong To You

I Belong To You is one of my favorites, I love the clarinet solo. :mrgreen:

There was a Muse concert recorded live from their hometown of Teignmouth, Devon last night on BBC3. I'll try and find it and I'll post the link up when I get home from school later.

And yet your opinion doesn't matter to me as Guiding Light is not among your favourites.

Looks very good to me

But the mic seems to be a bit quiet at the start of every song

It's not that I don't like Guiding Light, I just enjoy other songs on the album more.

My order of favorite songs goes somewhat like this:

I think I've heard the whole album at least 10 times on their site now. I can't wait for it to come out

My favs: The Exogenesi, US of Eurasia + Collateral Damage (the Chopin Nocturne at the end is absolutely mesmerizing), and Uprising.

That is the only song on the album I don't like. :lol:

I got this album 2 weeks ago. It's very good. I like the song Undisclosed Desires. I don't know what it is, I just like the music.
