Maggie, a travelling witch, has come to southern Asgarnia for the holiday festivities, but she's in a bit of a spot. She needs an enchanted broom to finish her potion but her ox has a cold and can't be left alone. In Swept Away, you'll need to visit several nearby witches on Maggie's behalf – and solve a few puzzles along the way.

While you're in the neighbourhood, why not try out the Holiday Event: a bit of trick-or-treating in Draynor, Rimmington and Port Sarim. The towns are decked out in holiday décor and the villagers have treats to distribute to those wearing a suitable costume. If you're interested in some holiday garb, have a chat with Maggie: she's on the look-out for someone who can do a bit of trick-or-treating on her behalf.

Swept Away can be started by talking to Maggie, who is located south of Falador and east of the Crafting Guild. The quest will be available to all players for two weeks; after this time, it will only be available to members. The Hallowe'en decorations and trick-or-treating will only be available during the same holiday period. Any treats remaining in your bank or inventory after this time will disappear after Hallowe'en.

In other news...

A large number of sound effects and changes to sound effects have been added, especially to capes and the skillcape emotes.

Human animations have been extensively modified to stop players appearing to glide around. You should also notice less 'clipping' with items like capes and armour when performing various actions or using emotes.

When you're dismissing a familiar, you can now right-click on the 'Dismiss' button. This will let you skip the confirmation screen, making it easier to dismiss the familiar during combat.

Fairy rings now have a larger clickable area. Previously, it was quite small and potentially difficult to click on, so we've enlarged it to make your journeys quicker.

Adding items to fill up compost bins should now be considerably easier. When you've used one item on the bin, your character will automatically attempt to put any further items of that type into the bin, saving you a bit of clicking.

Metarialus and Blandebir (the brewing chaps in Port Phasmatys and Keldagrim) will now offer to fill all your pots with yeast at once rather than making you go through their conversation for each pot. Using one beer glass on a barrel of freshly brewed beer will also make your character attempt to fill all their beer glasses without any additional clicking, and there's a newly installed water source in the brewery at Port Phasmatys.

Bounty Hunter Combat levels have been updated to reflect recent Combat level changes. The crater entrance requirements are now: 3-55, 50-100 and 95+ (all without Summoning).

Dragon dagger p++ should now be easier to find on the Grand Exchange. We've also taken the opportunity to change some adamant items to use "addy" at the start. This is only for the super poisoned items, namely arrows, daggers and spears.

QuickChat has now been given a predictive search feature to allow you to find the phrases you want more effectively.

A distant rumble has recently been heard just north of Baxtorian Waterfall...

Highlight the black if you want to know the rewards, didn't want to post spoilers on the first reply. :)

I ventured onto the game today to do the two things, got my warlock outfit and a uhh... broom. I'm quite impressed with what Jagex did to draynor but the event and quest were painful.

Well, first of all they added decoration and changed the colour of the environment of draynor and various other areas. They did two things this year, one for the f2p (the typical event) and a special quest for the members. It's a good move considering money is tight at the moment and they're trying to make some more cash by making the members look even better to the freebies who tend to only get the holiday updates from them three times a year. On the other hand it'll please the members because they get more for their money. I'm pleased with the decision to do nthis and although the story/concept is a bit dull it was a welcome break from the WoW rep grinding i've been at.

The items are okay, the warlock outfit looks nice but doesn't match the pumpkin head (I was rtunning around in mime+santa), and the broom seems a bit pointless. They are however, a lot better than the reaper helm and snow globe.

If I can give two ratings I'd give Jagex a 4/5 for effort but a 3/5 for the two updates.

Wasn't bad event, rated it 4/5. However, I expected it to be more funner since it was later than a week until Halloween. They should've made the event a bit longer and the quest harder and more challenging. Both updates are really easy to do and the theme still doesn't look like Halloween.

I liked it.(4/5) The holiday event is what they usually are. I much prefer a costume to most of the items. I liked the skeleton suit and pumpkin head better than this one, but this year is much better than a zombie head. The quest is ok. I finished it. Then you can take the item to other witches around runescape and have it get more powers. I can't do the last 2 steps though.
Overall I think people get their hopes up too much for holiday events. They are for everyone so they consist of doing something fairly simple that goes along with the spirit of the holiday, and getting an untradeable item in return. If you don't expect it to be more than that, you won't be disappointed.

i was more interested in the armadyl communique and that distant rumble north of the falls that it mentioned turned out to be a dead end hint to future updates but oh well... *waits a bit longer for new quests to do*

the holiday junk was typical, nice and easy tho most kids seemed to have some difficulty solving some of them.

It was a fun change of things, the reward for quest was pretty good, free tele and xp is always good, but overall something to do haha. :P I give it 5/5.

The event was okay and the quest took longer than I expected. The broom is pointless, Jagex couldn've done better. Could've add some sort of head gear to the outfit. 3/5.

Logged into RuneScape for the first time in 161 days for the event. Wasn't really expected much because of the past events. It was okay, I guess. Don't really have much comments on it. I do like the Halloween clothes, those are pretty cool.

The whole trick-or-treating thing was really not well done. Too repetitive and I kept getting those popcorn balls. But then again, I wasn't expecting much.

The part in the quest where we had to put the labels on the boxes really ***** me off for about 20 minutes until I finally got it done. I don't even really know what I did differently from before but I got it done.

I was going to vote 2/5, but the clothes earned it an extra point. 3/5.

Too bad you can't fly around on the broom .. unless I'm missing something #-o (Too much WoW)

It was alright, liked the decorations and the free exp at the end (yay summoning). The costume feels like there's something missing .. but it felt like trick or treating without the cold weather or kids running around everywhere (just did it today). Too bad there's only 3 kinds of candy .. had to get 9 chocolate drops. Actually figured out the puzzles myself for the first time in a hundred years .. too lazy to open a guide :P

Past events have been better, but I didn't go trick or treating this year so 3/5
