Quote:
There are many mysteries of the seas - hidden treasures, ghostly ships, pirate fashion - but few are as intriguing as the tale of Rabid Jack. Revered by a few, feared by many, his name is known by virtually all that sail the seas.

The problem is, no pirate is willing to talk of Rabid Jack. Whether out of terror or a determination to keep his history hidden, the pirates have taken an oath of silence on the subject: particularly annoying for any adventurer who wants to send Rabid Jack to a watery grave.

All is not lost, however, as one pirate has been given charge of the secret. Is it as easy as walking up and talking to him? Arrr, you should know better than that, landlubber! The pirate resides in 'The Rock' - an island prison for brigands and buccaneers - and he seems reluctant to pass on information without some assurances.

Needless to say, the path to your goal is a windy one, with some interesting stops on the way. Your path may even cross with the strong-arm of the Customs Office, some pirate implings and a multi-purpose seagull...

Summary

Where to start Rocking Out:
Speak to Bill Teach in Mos Le'Harmless or Port Phasmatys

Requirements to complete Rocking Out:
Level 60 Agility
Level 63 Thieving
Level 66 Crafting
Level 69 Smithing
The Great Brain Robbery
Access to:

A new way to train your Thieving skill
Pirate implings to hunt and catch
New pirate clothing, including reverse and double eye patches!

In other news...

The Menaphite action kilt was appearing as blue in your inventory even though it's red when you put it on. It's now correctly showing up as red in your inventory.

Similarly, the iron and steel gauntlets from the Fist of Guthix minigame were the wrong shades of grey, making the iron ones look like steel and the steel ones look like iron. Their colours have been switched round now.

Finally, you can now store broad-tipped bolts in your bolt pouches.

Double eye patches ... sounds fashionable.

Nice to see another quest in the realm of pirates. Most of my favorites have something to do with them, if not the elven ones. Too bad I can't rate it since the agility and thieving requirements are beyond me #-o "The Rock" sounds like a tricky place to break into, but I guess we'll find out. Good luck to anyone doing the quest.

Wow! Highish requirements for this one; I'm lacking the theiving and crafting which is sort of depressing but I'm really quite interested in the rewards to this. I'll give it a somewhat empty rating of 4/5 for it's somewhat high level requirements but the rewards seem lame as it's theiving and hunter based.

I'm amazed that this is finally a quest where I have to get some more skill levels up for it. Both my crafting and smithing aren't high enough. But I've also heard that the quest is kind of interesting and gives a good reward.

4/5

not quite as high as what i requested of them for a decent quest, but starting to get there. the challenges were ok but not to difficult kinda straight forwards tasks to it.

rewards of being able to catch pirate implings, they're yellow just like young and magpie ones =\ found a few randomly spawning on mos le harmles isle as well as a new wheat field outside of town. im thinking the new pirate outfits come from they loot as the thieving ones only yeilded old stiped shirts, boots, eyepatches, and scimmys of various types and cant locate any new shops around town.

other than that not to bad. tho not what i'd expect from a quest that alot of people actually had to train a lil more to do.

Well, that's Jagex for you. Did Devious Minds have a good reward? Nope, and that was the previous highest Smithing requirement (although I don't think 65/68 is high to begin with).

I'd really like to see a double eyepatch on a character, if anyone has one. I wonder how you'd see...

No real challenge to this quest. Just lots and lots of running around. Certainly took me longer than the last couple out have done.

I thought the rewards were okay, a fair bit of xp for a quest.

After having time to evaluate the rewards, and reqs.. I give this 3/5. The reqs are good, but the reward is not.

no but devious minds does have alot of sequel potential, as well as fold into the temple knights, along with hinting towards a tight cross skill weapon that we could get from possible sequels. only downside is that it's been years since the quest came out and nothing to follow behind it yet. 8-[
