Hello chums,

If you use our clan chat you might of heard me moaning about a certain skill in our lovely game. The majority of you agree with me I'm sure in that it's possibly one of the most flawed skills we've seen to date. Those that do not agree are wrong and jealous.

Most threads are made for discussion and that's fine. But so I'm clear this isn't up for debate. This skill is crap. Over the weeks i plan to post evidence of this skill being ******* just cause it's more fun than actually trying to train it. And i have tried and just trying to find a group is possibly one of the hardest challenges in that game ever. Forget killing bosses or pking or grinding out 99 rcing.

SO. Why this skill is crap the evidence we have:

Point 1) I need say no more than this. Go ahead. Click the link and look around. These...for lack of a better word retards are what make up the majority of this game. These are the tools i have to work with in order to achieve a level in this crap skill. They've got the attention of a goldfish and an orangutan would do a better job running a dungeon with me than them.

Point 2)Finding a party. This in itself is flawed. What the **** am i supposed to do with this mess? Trying to find a group is a pain in the ****. Give me matchmaking. Something. Anything. And record how often they quit the **** team so you can then match them up with other quitters.

3) Low levels. Theres no restriction on who can and cannot join a party. Other well known mmo's that have these raid type dungeons wont let you run said dungeons without certain requirements or levels. I'm not an elitist but as a level 129 I've got no interest in teaming up with a level 80 odd. Nothing against level 80s but you bring nothing to the table. I like to think I'm a fairly all round character. I can tank the monsters and hit fairly high. 9/10 times i bring some skill to the table that no one else has as well. I've got no interest in a level 80 who has skills but is going to spend the entire dungeon mining bloody rocks while we do all the work.

This is out of my control however cause i can't see who else is in the party very easily. And usually the alternative is worse. I'm nitpicking a bit on this one cause you can see whos in your party it's just annoying to do and you have little say in who the party leader allows in anyway.

4) Retarded skill checks. Several times we've run a dungeon only to come across a door nobody in the group can open. This is just the most idiotic game design I've ever come across. You nerf me exp wise because i don't have a level that i couldn't possible predict I'd have needed because it's randomly generated? If i can pot to the level fair enough but on many occasions that's not even possible. Actually saying that potting to the level is **** annoying as well. Learn the difference between CHEAP and difficult.

5) Retardedly cheap bosses. I'm using the word retarded a lot. Perhaps that's a better word for this skill than crap. Certain bosses will hit you so high and fast that it's impossible to heal through it. Again CHEAP does not equal difficult.

Then theres other joys with the bosses like this chap. Me and a mate was speed running through some low level floors on f2p (cause the monsters levels are lower) so keep in mind I'm a level 129 and hes 134 we shouldn't have any issues just walking through these floors on complex 1 size 1 or whatever. But this guy killed us both. Twice.

Not because hes a hard boss. But because hes cheap. He smashed down the rocks and we couldn't get near him. And he refused to remove them. It was a speed run so deaths hardly mattered it was the fact i couldn't physically do ANYTHING about it. This is a common theme with dungeoneering bosses. There cheap and buggy. Add to the retarded boss fights the retarded players and you get mass retardation. The amount of times these idiots have teleported out of a boss fight and sat outside the room letting me soak up the damage because they ran out of food. So i can die over and over so you don't have to? **** off. AGAIN nothing against low levels but your usually the culprits.

6) Lag. Every time someone opens up a door you get a second or two lag. If you run out a room you still get hit with mage/range attacks. When you switch on your prayer even though it's clearly showing above your head you still get hit because theres a lag delay. This is **** cheap as **** and has got me killed in the past. It's not acceptable and it's unbelivable that they've not fixed this ****.

7) Soloing is ****. Seriously. This is an MMO. Theres two things you should expect from an MMO. One is lots of people. Check. Two is freedom. Freedom to choose what i want to do, where i want to go. Yada yada.

I can't solo dungeoneering. I tried. My usual 30-40k exp got me 3k or so exp instead on my own. **** that *******. I get why you put it in. But don't FORCE me to **** team up with these idiots just to get any sort of decent exp. It's ******* i'm not a **** babysitter i shouldn't have to deal with these idiots just to progress in your game. Give me a viable CHOICE.

I can go on and on. And on. And on. You said that this skill was supposed to be part of your new game (now canceled) i can see why you binned it. What i don't get is why you put it in runescape. It clearly has issues and you've made no attempt in the year it's been out to fix them.

A few things cause I've heard the same tired arguments off people that know nothing so I'm saving time;
First I'm 22 years old. That means a few things. One of them is i generally don't know many people irl who play rs. Those that do lead busy lives and finding a time when we're all free and all up for dungeoneering is a rarity and not a viable option.

Secondly yes i can solo it and get to level 120. Technically. But technically i can get 99 woodcutting on normal trees. I'm not about to do that because it's not a viable option.

Going back to me being 22 means i have other things to do. I don't lead the busiest life ever but i can't sit up till stupid o clock waiting for online friends from across the sea to get on to do some dungeoneering. Which cuts down my ability to group up with online friends as well. So the very best solution is to find randoms. And if Jagex bothered to fix there **** skill or make soloing viable this thread wouldn't exist.

Feel free to agree with me and post your own hatred for this awful skill. I want 50 pages then I'll print this off, wrap it around a brick and toss it through there window. Love you all.

Lol yeah I agree with that. XD Although I don't necessarily hate finding a group in the way you have to, kind of dumb to have a 2006 fally world 2 type match finding environment... I guess they kind of thought those rooms would be enough lmao

What I hate most is (as you've ranted) is no other skill makes me team up with a bunch of randoms and have my xp rate dependent on their ability and competence. Or makes me play for over an hour just to get my xp.

I think it's the worst skill but I'm not one of those people like who cry over that it's a minigame or something.

I personally disagree with all of this, Dungeoneering is one of my favorite skills. When it first came out and I started training it, I thought that it was crap and everything you said, but now that I have gotten a higher level in it, it seems easier to find teams, more routine and streamline, and I find it quite enjoyable. It is a skill that does not involve grinding, you are fighting different monsters, solving puzzles, and fighting bosses. And once you get a chaotic weapon and access to frost dragons, you will begin to love this skill for its rewards. I feel it is a great skill and I disagree with your personal opinion on it. Everybody has their own opinoin on stuff like this and mine is a positive one. And to be honest, getting a team is easy once you can use world 148 rather than that ghetto death pit that is world 117. I have done a large floor in ~35 minutes in world 148. Dungeoneering is something that is not for everyone, I personally think it should be a minigame, but somehow it was made a skill.

Edit: I agree with the lag when opening doors, that is just horrible and needs to be fixed. Some of the bosses, like stomp are just a pain in the rear, but some of them like grave creeper are pretty fun to fight.

Well I think I can't judge since I never tried it (I'm retired since 3 years) BUT I only heard bad things about it. From what I heard and what I understood in your post, correct me if I'm wrong, you need a group of people in order to train it.

Ughhh. Therefore the concept in itself is bound to be a failure. You should never depend on other people to train a skill. You either have to wait for your friends to get on to train, and that's if they actually want to. Count also the fact that you might have no friend playing the game at all. If not, you have to find other players. That's a pain in the *** to have to train a skill with strangers.

I also heard alot about 'Cheap Bosses', like you've said. Apparently they hit you so high that you have to click on like 5 sharks to get your health back to normal. It shouldn't work that way. A hard boss isn't a boss that hits 60s+. A hard boss is one that has a very high accuracy. He hits you with low-medium damages but he ALWAYS hits you. Now THAT'S hard. A one-two hit boss is stupid.

This said, Dungeoneering should not be a skill but rather a minigame (probably alot of people said that but I'm not a player so don't mind that.)

Sadly i have proof it's a crap broken skill:

This was after 15 minutes or so. Thanks team! I was even keying that time around cause I'd had enough of incompetent retards unable to do a simple job. LIterally ALL the other 4 had to do was hit monsters and follow me. Can't even manage that. Useless tossers. Another failure. I don't think it should be a minigame i think it should be more open to solo play. Give me more exp. Not the same as people grouping but enough to make it an option.

If that's not possible might i suggest some changes to the skill. First the name. Dungeoneering is a stupid name. Is it even a real word?

First things first the skill should be renamed babysitting. Basically the way you train babysitting is you get locked into a dungeon with 4 annoying turds. And you have to escape the dungeon before the turds **** you the **** off and/or they get bored themselves and bugger off.

I quit reading after you started being lvl'ist of people with lower level combat than you. It doesn't matter if your a level 3 or a level 138... Everyone can bring something to the table.

Idiots like you make it difficult for people lower than 130+ to level through dungeoneering. I've seen pvp 3's that were more help than anyone on a maxed combat team... You know why? Because they keep the team going with potions and food. They might not be able to do as much combat but still.. A lvl 3 skiller can make a team of 4 lvl 120+ be faster than a maxed team.

I'll continue reading when you get you head out of you lvl 129 butt

Saying it is crap is your own opinoin, which not everybody agrees with, so keep it to yourself.

You cannot prove an opinoin to be fact.

Oh don't talk rubbish. A level 3 keeps the team going with potions and food? You don't need potions and food. You can literally run through these dungeons surviving off the food the monsters drop. Well you can if you've got the right combat levels. The only time you need a pot is to boost a door or perhaps for a boss.

A lvl 3 skiller would slow the team down. Be useless in the boss fight. Useless in any fight. If he wants to dungeoneer he should dungeoneer within a level bracket. Think I'm being elitist? Don't care.

Crap.

Anywho back to proving chris wrong look thijs guys stats up. 80 def, 80 att. Rage quits cause he dies ONCE. He'd not be one hit so easily if he had a better defence level. He spent the entire dungeon making armour for HIMSELF and then gets nailed.

Don't get ***** with me cause i want to team with people around my level. Get ***** with guys like this who give you a bad name.

edit: So I'm clear though. And cause i'm not biased at all. Once the baby quit the 4 of us left (all 120+ i might add) went on and completed the dungeon and i even got a level. I should also meantion I'm not just picking out the bad experiances and keeping hush hush about the good. The two screenshots i've posted so far are back to back runs. I've not done anymore. If i happen to get a good run with a good team I'll be happy to post aboot it. I doubt i will though.

Ok guys, I'll say this to you all just once. This is an topic based on people's opinions. Feel free to disagree with those opinions. Don't feel free to insult each other based on those opinions. It doesn't matter what people think, they should be free to state it as long as they aren't breaking one of Rsbandb's rules. This goes for people that have posted in this topic, as well as people who have yet to post in the topic.

If I see anymore namecalling or other sorts of behaviour after this post, don't be surprised if you get a PM from me or another mod. You all know better than this.

*thumbs up* haha and this doesnt even go against what kulla said to do ^.^

also @ creepy.. im sorry for calling you an idiot but you make horrible statements to back up your opinion. And it seems you pretty much hate everything about runescape. Makes me and alot of others wonder why you play a game that you complain about so much. Its like all the Justin Bieber videos.. people go on them on youtube and make all these rude comments about him. Why would you go on a video that you hate just to comment about it. again im sorry if this offends you... Just "stating my opinion" of your opinion ;)

Thank you.

Blooming moderators coming in here ruining the fun. :( To set this topic straight this isn't a "what do we think of Creepy" topic it's a dungeoneering topic. So lets move on from me as I don't personally care.

As I'm not allowed to be childish anymore I'll have to put forth actual arguments that can't be argued.

These are my demands jagex:

Matchmaking. Allow us to search for groups within a level bracket (say 5 levels either way of your current combat level) that way we aren't standing around spamming and trying to find people capable of running the floor. And if we get an idiot allow us to KICK THEM and allow us to find another party member without having to leave and start all over.

Still let people do it the traditional way as well though. That way if someone wants to team up with Mr level 90 they can do so happily.

Solo play. Give us better exp. If I'm getting 30k exp for a floor in a group let me get instead 25k exp if i do it solo. Lets face facts they never designed this skill to force you to deal with idiots. The idea was you can team up with friends. SO keep it like that. Give grouped people a bit better exp.

People have argued no one will group then but there wrong. If i had teh choice of grouping with 5 friends or going solo I'd opt to group every time. Don't care if the exp is only slightly better.

Both of these points are win/win for everyone. It's insane for them not to bring these additions into the game. They really should be paying me for this.

As for my other points I don't think i need to go into my detail on why the lag needs to be fixed and the bosses need to be reworked so there not cheap crap.

Ok creepy... With your matchmaking idea... That would have to be so complex... The lines of code would have to find levels near you (which I don't understand why you still are against skillers), find the people that need the same floors, along with the "anti-quitter" which I don't see happening because realize if you get stuck in a dungeon and the whole group has to leave... They are all quitters. I'm guessing you gonna say "well people can flag them as quitters... Id hate that because anyone could flag anyone. If you can come up with a minigame that has the same mechanics that you talking about or if Shane would post that this idea could be coded then I'd agree slightly.. But I'd allow any levels.

I'm a lvl 109 if you took my summoning away... I'm just as worth having on a team as you are creepy.. Maybe more idk. I can tank and Ive got no problem with the creature called "stomp". Combat is broken dude lol I'm a maxed tank yet jagex see me as a 109 instead of a 126. I can cream you in dual arena anytime so don't tell me higher combat is better
