muted for quoting someone elses words lol

im raging over this coz im in the clan world, how the **** can i do **** in fights if im muted? not to mention i just got back to runescape yesterday and was looking forward to meeting new people and talk to my new clan and the usual. oh now i cant coz im muted!

i can search hiscores to find the person behind this, but what for? start a beef with some insignificant member and get my *** banned like in runewire? naw man. but ill just leave this here :/

oh well, an opportunity to get that silver crown is still an opportunity anyway, right?


lets not make this look like just a rant, so i'll open a discussion topic:

if you were muted for a prolonged period of time for something similar, what would you have done? if you had some past experiences do share in the thread.

Welcome to Runescape, The Staff bans everyone who says bad stuff so nobody gets hurt.

The thing wrong with ***** is that EVERYTHING you say is bad. If it continues this way, they'll ban you for saying LOL because they'll think it's a terrorist attack.
Banning/Muting for quoting is the stupidest thing ever, not likely you do something bad, you clearly say ''I'm tired of these ****** who wants my account''. It's not what you said, it's just an exemple of what morons frequently tell you. Seems like ***** is too stupid to know that.

My only tip is to don't let a mute stop you playing. 90% of people are bunch of retarded idiots whom don't worth talking to. I was not muted myself, but I always had public chat off, was not talking to anybody on friends list because I have no friends and barely went to CC because it was slowly becoming dull.

I was banned for saying to a former friend;

It was obviously not serious at all. Oh and I once got banned for a week on a forum for quoting someone's post XD

If I were you, I wont stop playing because people are idiots and I personally don't need any of them to keep going on. But that's up to you.

I'd appeal like crazy, that really is not fair at all, they really shouldn't have banned you, but still, don't stop playing, just because they were unintelligent (to say the least) doesn't mean that you should have your game experience suffer. stick with it and tell them you were just quoting someone that was being annoying to you, hence the quotation marks.

From personal experience, if you say something like this you'll get a mute. If you appeal it, they accept your appeal.

Well, it looks like that ur in a "rock and a hard case". I guess that the lesson here is that you shouldn't say things that will get you banned. even though you were quoted someone else's words, it will look to jagex like u were asking for someone's account, resulting in the mute-hammer.

And as for the silver crown... I'm 99.5% sure that you have to have a clean record in runescape (and other jagex MMORPG's) to become a mod. Then again, i could be wrong.

Well that seems most ridiculous. You could clearly see in the given context that you were quoting someone and even used quotation marks and the scale of the punishment is absurd. Hopefully, you should get a successful appeal. Gl
