Jagex criticized to much?

How often do you hear a player or ex-player complain about updates or RuneScape related news?
Is the player ignorant on the update and not fully understand it or is it genuine dislike?
Does Jagex get enough credit for there hard work, better yet would you give them a pat on the back?

Personally, I hear more and more negative things about Jagex's decisions towards all things.
I think this is partially do to the fact that players frequently do not fully understand the
update or news. I really don't have a problem with most updates but there are moments when
I think RunScape must be going down the drain

.

I'm not pro-Jagex or against them, I just think that sometimes they deserve a little more credit for the
hours, days, and years they've put into the game. (Other times I think they need a good beating :lol:

)

What do you guys think?

I think that people complain about updates because humans don't like change. When a player sees an update they normally complain about it before they even try it. Personally, I hate when people criticize Jagex because they are trying their hardest to develop a fun game for everyone.

what irks me is

they release something sub-standard to replace something else (lets say BH to replace old wildy)

players unhappy with system, the other players however took it as it came and got used to BH.

since content takes up months to create and finalize, by the time they have done their tweaks to BH, one part of the pk community quit while the other part has grown too used to BH.

again, some get really upset, while the others just accept the changes.

Jagex tries to appease to the crowd again, takes months to make new content, by the time its done ,everyones used to new BH, and the same things happen

imagine it as this: old wild->multi BH->single BH->PvP worlds->BH worlds->No-protect item PvP worlds->1-item PvP worlds

its a cycle i say.

They've managed to lure millions of people into the game and keep them sucked in.

It's easy to take for granted what already exists while tearing Jagex apart for all the bad stuff; perhaps it is a little harsh, but that's just how it is. Besides, if they're criticised so much, then it's only a reflection upon the job they're doing.

It almost seems so commonplace to hate the new updates and think they are "childish", that if you genuinely like the update and think it adds great content to the game, you are just a wannabe moderator sucking up to Jagex.

I think people critisize Jagex too much. Not all the updates are great but they have a lot of work to do and put in a lot of effort. People should just give them a break.

Basically, the complaining after each update started after December 10, 2007.

A lot of the players hate Jagex now for what they did then... they need to learn to deal with the changes.

Everyone's going to like and dislike updates, people will just have to deal with it. Honestly, I don't think Jagex is even criticized that much. In theory, the more they're criticized, the more they'll improve, but I don't think that's working in reality.

My only rant against jagex is the appealing system. Whenever you get a blackmark, it almost gets automaticly denied, no matter what. They could ban you for the global warming if they could. Also I believe they don't listen to the players enough, they don't give a **** about the suggestions made in the forums.

Other than that, I have nothing else to say.

Yes, I'd have to agree with you 100% on your views about the appeal system.

I think Jagex does get a little too much crap for everything they do, albeit they make some pretty bad decisions from time to time, but they put forth effort into their content and I think most of the Runescape players take that for granted.

I think it depends on the person if jagex is criticized to much. I don't think they are, infact i think they've made great updates, if you ask a die hard pker, they will say jagex are the worst people ever, it just depends on the person.

Personally, I think they just do some things that feel insane. I must be the one not understanding the updates.

I still think Jagex has done a good job with their updates, they could just do a lot better. Every update itself has been good but Jagex should spend 10-15 x more time to plan the rewards. Great updates, mini-games and products are rubbish just because of the rewards. It doesn't make sense. Rewards are either too low (most common) or they are breaking the game balance.

I agree with Creepy on this one.
Many MMOG devs get it worse. SOE for one, and I think Blizzard still gets **** even though they have 11 million subscribers and a polished game.
