Why do people put "NFS" on bank pictures?

Originally I thought it was to let people know in the forum topic that they're aren't selling any of their stuff.

So I thought... Well they could just say in the topic "None of dis **** is fo sale, yo!"

Then I heard that someone might save the picture and use it to sell it as an account on ebay.

So I think to myself "Who cares? This affects me in no way whatsoever... Like I care if some idiot buys a picture of a bank rofl."

Then somebody says that I could get hacked?? Well how would putting "NFS" over my bank picture prevent my account from getting hacked? The only possible way for my account to get "hacked" is by downloading illegitimate software from an untrustworthy site or telling someone else my account information.

So please tell me... Why do you put "NFS" on your bank pictures?

Well I've seen some of those pictures...one of my freinds had one of those and he said he put that on it so people would stop harrassing him and saying "Ill buy your stuff", etc. That's why he does it...

It's because some people will get a bank picture, go to a Runescape cheating site, and say "I'm selling this account, with this stats, blahblahblah"

It was generally because of thoses e-bay retarded of life who used to steal bank pic of people from rs fansite and posting on e-bay

In this case, NFS would stand as 'Dont put this **** pic on e-bay this is not for rwt newbs' or NFS would stand as Not for sale for real money.

Frankly, I couldn't give a **** if they took my bank/stats and held it for sale.

They aren't gonna get my account are they?

I think it's so, if it does get posted on a selling site, Jagex wont trace it your post originally or search the items and match it with your bank, and ban you.

It does sound stupid, but with Jagex, you'd never know what they do.

I don't do it because I could care less if someone is scammed by thinking they'd get my account when bidding. Honestly, it's stupid to do and is against the rules in the first place.
Also, if I do get banned, my IPs should be enough of an indicator that I wasn't selling my account, as I've never logged in from somewhere other than Ottawa or Toronto. To get around that, I'd have to sell my account in Ottawa, and I'm not keen to put up posters around the school "SELLING RUNESCAPE ACCOUNT 1900+ TOTAL".

And Rad, it's when you make a bank picture, or stats picture, and put "NFS" (or "Not For Sale") text all over it to indicate that your account is not for sale (to avoid people putting it on scam sites that sell "legitimate" RuneScape accounts).

often times people want to show off what they have in their bank. the big problem and it has happened here as well, somebody decides to try and cheat and take that bank picture and try to sell it for real money. obviously the original player does not want to sell it and does not want to get in trouble because somebody got their picture. they just put it in there because it is hard to remove it from a picture and it would look fishy if suddenly there were white marks shaped in NFS sign.

I put my name all over my Bank pictures if nothing else but to claim them as mine.

People who copy pictures off of people's Goals/Achievement threads are just too **** lazy to go to a Private Server and make their own awesome bank picture. Instead they prey on the kids who think that buying an account is the easiest way to do anything in a game they like. Kind of sad really.

Although it won't prevent my account from getting hacked, I don't condone the selling of accounts so it helps a little in that respect.

On the other hand, I've never actually made a public bank picture...

i only do this so if someone thinks it's good idea to sell me bank pic and puts it on ebay ect i can get in trouble whit jagex like they mostlike ban either lock me acc coz of this one pick got leaked so i guesss ppl just taking safety reason against jagex.
