whip with rune def or ss? which do you think is better

i been in alot of fights about which one is better whip with zammy book\rune def or sara sword so i wanna know what you think is better

Saradomin Sword is only good as it trains strength, but if you're not bothered with it... The whip is better.

Also the SS is 7.5m dearer.

The fact that I've already got 99 Attack, Strenth, Defence, etc, pretty much means the whip is a no brainer for me. Even without 99 Strength, which would be the only reason I believe people should look at the Sword for training, I'd probably pick a Dragon Scimitar. The special on the Sword is nice, but that's about it. I'd rather be able to train for long periods of time, so having a shield would be much better in my view than having that special attack.

In short, Whip with a shield/defender for Attack and Defence, swap for Scimitar for Strength.

No no. If you're rich (but not rich enough for a Godsword) and you want to train strength. By all means, buy one.

Just don't use it for Dragon/Basilisk/Cockatrice tasks D:

i had one for a while and the sara sword was dissapointing to say the least. I'd stick with a whip. I'm not really even looking into godswords cause i'd prefer a shield. :$

I'd go for the whip and defender. It should be the better of the two options you mention.

I went with a sara sword for a while, but realized it isn't much better than a whip besides the strength training. And having the option to train strength isn't worth .. whatever it's at now. It's been going down ever since I got it of course.

I'm happy with a whip and dragon square, rune defender is even better. A Dragonfire Shield would go nicely too but ... it's twice-three times as expensive as a SS anyway

I found the SS surprisingly good in Castle Wars though when I was playing with it. I assume that was just coincidental.. :-k

well it depends if you like 2h weps .SS is ideal for such person as it not a slow 2hander. Id stick whit whip tho unless you 99 def then shield is not a matter.

i used it for a bit no better then the whip but when i get 99 deff ill use it for str till 99 then ill go back to whip and sheild

I prefer defence over a special i can use once in a while so a whip with a shield would be my obvious choice

ss is great for training str. other then that its not worth the cost.

Whip with rune defender/anything else. Sure, Saradomin Sword can train strength, but I generally train with a whip in controlled, anyway. And yeah, the Saradonic Sword has a good special, but it drains all the way, making it a bit useless. Also, last time I checked, Saradomin Sword was over 6x the cost of a whip. The whip is better overall.
