OK, here's a question for ya.

What tasks do you take beast of burden familiars on? And which kind do you use?

For me (always with an eye towards gc), I high alch most of my pouches. But some are worth using.

Here's what I've used so far.
Bull Ant or lower - Never used. Summoning got higher pretty quick and better options were available.
Abyssal Parasite or Lurker - Always, whenever I'm runecrafting.
Spirit Terrorbird - When collecting far flung supplies. E.g., white berries, rune ore, potato cactus. I've never used them to carry food.
War Tortoise - I have a few, but never used them yet. They don't high alch for much, but the shell (to make them) is hard to get.

You???

Spirit Terrorbird - When I am running Air Orbs to the Oblisk to enchant. Picking my Herb plots. Making Summoning pouches. Agility training.

War Tortoise - Collecting seconds for Herblore. Training construction. Training slayer.(used it in Castle Wars last night for +8 Def  )

Moved to RSGeneral discussion as it's mostly a discussion topic asked in the form of a question. ;) RSQuestions forum is for getting help on something you don't know about.

Personally I really have only used the Terrorbird, and that was only for KBD trips and Godwars.

I was going to use it for planking but Jagex was too noob to allow it on the balloon. :(

I've used a bull ant once when I was mining and once when I was getting shade remains to burn.

I use my spirit terrorbird for a lot of things. Carrying planks, buying battlestaffs, fighting dragons, training summoning, bringing extra supplies to God Wars, etc. 12 extra spaces, nearly infinite run energy, and an effective fighter and hits taker in exchange for some bird meat, gold charms, and 12 shards, you can't go wrong with that!

Back when summ first came out, I tried using my terrorbird for RC. I mean c'mon, a familiar that could heal your energy and carry items? Every RC'ers dream right? Too bad only abyssal creatures can carry ess.

Anyway, i use the abyssal creautres for carrying ess. :)
