This is insane. Jagex has done it this time.

Today I told my freind"meet me at falador, ok?"
He said sure.
Like 5 min later, he still wasen't there. I asked him if he was planning to come still.
He said, ok, "I'm comin."

But this was how it looked on the screen. Ok, I'm ***in.
No sense??!!! This has happened alot before, but Jagex, you need to take control of your game. How would "comin" be against the rules? OMFG??!!!!

Well... "comin" is not in the dictionary. "com" is in their filter. If he was to say a word in the dictionary but includes "com", such as "coming", it would not be blocked.

"com" is in the filter because many web addresses end in "com". I don't think it is for Ranging God's reason although it could be a way some people think they can evade for that word.

The censor is bad, it does need some reworking. It's probably not a high priority though.

Tell your friend not to be lazy.

I know it must be hard seeing as that last... little... letter takes SO MUCH effort.

Comin - Coming

Jagex has rules, they go to extreme lengths to make sure they don't get broken.

First of all, my friend hates teleporting everywhere. Second, this has happened before. I find it annoying to say something normal, and its blocked. I never said that Jagex should add "comin" to their dictionary.

There are too many harmless words like this that are blocked because of Jagex's high power censor. It would be best to just spell it right or find some sort of way around the censor.

"Comin" isn't that bad though. It's worse if your clan name is blocked, like mine. "Aureolias" has the s censored and "aos" is censored completely.

Yikes. Why would it do that?

I'm guessing it's close to *** or something along the lines of that.

It blocks the letters A S in a word, it also blocks C O N . When construction came out it was blocking that - LOL.

They can put words onto the derestricted list, for instance if your name is not offensive but gets blocked when friends use it, you can apply on the forums to have it added.

It blocks M S N but not msm

It must be a basic cheap version of a censor that blocks anything that could remotely be offensive. It does not look at context at all.

If you can come with a function that can check what a word means in a sentence you'll get very, very rich. It isn't hard for humans to do so but a computer won't be able to do that any time soon. And I got no problems with the censor, I hardly ever get starred out words. Actually it only happens when I mistype sometimes.

When did I say anything about teleporting? I didn't even mention the word.

Secondly, what's the big deal? It's just a small amount words, no need to make a topic about it.

I think it's more about how stupid the censor can be at times.
