ive noticed after the recent unbalanced trade removal its been very difficult to sell certain items (yew longs, cooked lobsters, etc) has anyone else experienced this? if not hopefully you wont have to, im personally hoping jagex will adjust the prices to what people actually buy/bought for.

I had cooked lobs in grand exchange for 3 weeks straight. They finally sold yesterday. I only had like 109 too. Weird.

Since the prices crashed a week ago or so people with huge stocks of certain items went out to sell them thinking they could sell them before they dropped further, this added more supply and dropped the prices even further.
But, I think yew longs are really expensive right now and that's why no one's buying them because they'll lose lots of money.

Yes, I have noticed its hard to sell things now.. We are being pretty much forced to use the Grand Exchange. It would be nice if Jagex explained clearly how the Grand Exchange works so that we would be better able to sell things. (when i say "works" I don't mean "how to use it" I mean more of the mechanics of the actual selling process).

that would be a good idea, i would like to know what causes the price fluctuations, like is it just a simple formula based on the quantity and demand of the item, or something more complicated?

also my 13k lobs just sold.

Ya, one of my main questions is this: Lets say I'm trying to sell a dragon long at minimum price. I put it in and it doesn't sell. I wait one day then check it again, it still hasn't sold, but, the price has gone down around 500gp. NOW what I would like to know is if I have a BETTER chance to sell it by taking it out and re-listing it at the new minimum price or does the system have some way of keeping track of which items were listed first in which case it would be better to leave it in and keep my place in line.

---maybe I should ask Jagex to put out a little guide on how the mechanics of the Grand Exchange work..

It'll always give the buyer the cheapest priced item first, regardless of time in the GE. So it's best to take the item out and put it back in if you a determined to sell. One point you do have to watch out for is the maximum price falling below the one you have listed on a previous day. If this happens then the item you have will never sell.

It would be nice to be able to adjust the price from any bank, rather than have to go to the GE and take out the item and renter it. I've seen suggestions made about this on the RS Forums so maybe they will be taken on board in the future.

Knowing Jagex, they'll probably tell you to "figure it out for yourself".

The Grand Exchange apparently works depending on how items are sold. If lots of items are sold at minimal price, the market price goes down. If lots of items are sold at maximum price, it goes up. That's why yew logs rose so much, is because at the time, so many of them were so cheap and difficult to obtain that everyone wanted to buy them at max price, and when it did its daily adjustment, since so many had bought the logs at a higher price, the market price rose drastically.

This is so Jagex doesn't have to focus on manually manipulating prices over and over again. Clever, but unreliable. All it takes is a clan with lots of money to buy a ton of items at higher prices to raise the altogether price and make an immense profit while the economy suffers.

Also, I find that if you buy at maximum price, then it starts by looking for a cheaper item and works its way up until you get the cheapest one possible. Whenever you sell, though, whatever you want to sell it for stays the same no matter what, so use minimal price wisely.

Cooked lobs are unwanted anymore for some reason. Same goes for essence.

Then there would be no point of the actual location of the point exchange. Who goes north of the western varrock bank just for the heck of it? Nobody really. That would cause jagex more labor, to re-design the map.
I guess it would be better for us if we could change the prices from anywhere, but that sucks the fun out of work.

Cooked lobsters? Mainly used by F2pers and F2p pking. Now considering that p2pers will use monkfish or sharks, pking doesn't exist and the massive amount of lobsters created through all these lv99 coking newbs I wouldn't expect them to be sellable for a while. :(

As for yews, typically used by fletchers; I think that a lot of that market relies on trading supplies for the finished product which I don't think the trade restrictions allow anymore.

They have yew longs jacked up to 704 each... who in their right mind would buy that? I had them up for 3 weeks, not a 1 sold.
took me 2 weeks to sell 5 cooked lobbies :S .

Between the grand exchange and no pking, it is impossible to sell any cooked fish

Ya, I don't think lobsters will really sell like they used to until they make the 1v1 bounty hunter that they said they would..
