Jagex "big update" on 2008 revealed?

So i was talking to my friend over msn and he said he read something on another fansite about something Jagex has been planning since the release of RS2.

He gave me a name and i happily googled it. And it's actually looking like a very exciting reality.

Nice find.

I've done a little research myself and found that a number of topics have been locked in the official forums about Mechscape, over being posted in "Future Updates". It leads me to believe that MechScape is going to be a stand alone game with no relation to RuneScape at all, other than being created by the same people.

I don't like space games much. If they make it, I hope it is in no way related to Runescape.

they said it was a big runescape update. this "mechscape" is not related to runescape, so probably not the big update.

Seems pretty cool. I wonder how many people are going to convert to it from RuneScape when it is released.

I don't think it's the big update though. (Well, maybe...) I'm more thinking the update will be in RuneScape not a different game. :/
Hmm, are there any hints supporting this in game, on the forums, etc.?

Some people are thinking that MethScape is going to be RuneScape but in the present/future because of mech: mechanics and rune relating to the time RuneScape takes place.

I don't think the games will be connected, or accounts and private chat at the most. (You can log into MechScape with your RuneScape account details, log into RuneScape with your MechScape details and talk to people playing MechScape from RuneScape in private chat and vice versa)

I don't think this is it because it said it is a Runescape Update, not a Jagex Game update. I have actually known about Mechscape for about 2 months now. Someone sent me a link to a topic on the Mayhem Maker forums, and it had some info that said that Jagex had registered like all these web addresses. mechscape.com/.org/.biz/billing.mechscape.com/.org/.biz etc.
So, it is probably official, but still, this probably isn't the update.

MechScape isn't going to be related to RS, not gona be an updated RS..that's like calling it RS3 and Jagex isn't anywhere near done with RS2 (according to them).

I never once said it was going to be related.

Also, for the record jagex never once said this big update was RS related:

They simply stuck it in there monthly updates because they was going to be hinting towards what it is on rs.

hopefully they wont ditch runescape after this comes out. i'd be sticking to runescape since i like medieval more than sci-fi.

They wouldn't do that.

There going to run both, it's just opening up a wider audience because not everyone likes medieval times i suppose.

Again. XD I'm not to interested in if it is or isn't, that was just a suggestion, I'm more interested in the game itself and if it's a reality.

They DID call rs2 a "big update" when it was coming - in reality it was a whole new game.
