My friend whos played since the beginning of rs time. Told me of a time when 1mil could buy almost anything with lots still left over. But if we look to now there are hundreds of things that could instantly blow awway that hard earned cash *cough*treasure trails*cough*.What do you guys think?

Armour back then costed a hell of a lot more I think.

It was harder to make money back then compared to now anyways.

I remember when I started playing (back in 2004) prices were much better. I don't remember much but I do remember mining 1.5K coal to get 200K to buy my first set of full rune.

Fact is, yes, the value of money has gone down.

1 million gp will still be 1 million gp.
The difference is that as a player, we're constantly earning more, levelling more skills, and wanting more items. Therefore it seems that 1 million is worth less than it is. When we started out, 1 million seemed a lot :)
I guess that it depends who you are and what you want it for!

Man I remmember getting hacked and losing full rune was a catastrophy...
Now I can afford multiple full runes by 2-3 days of fishing, but I quit runescape. If I knew back then when santa was worth 300k how to earn 300k I would buy 10 santas...I would just fish lobsters but as the situation seems it looks impossible to get cash for a party hat.

And with 1M you couldn't buy anything... I mean full saradomin was like 3M+? Thats only one example.

Flame baiting, spamming or whatever, I think it would have been only fair to ask what everyone else thought first. Regardless of the outcome, it would have been a lot less selfish (because removing it like this is) and would have gotten a much better response.

How do alchers ruin anything? You LOOSE money alching. Anyway, even without ANY macros, autoers, gold sellers, etc. EVENTUALLY, more and more gold will be in runescape. So just like the real world the economy changes

People can earn 10M an hour.

Merchanting can give you more than 1M in less than 1 minute.

So 1M is nothing. So many people even have the max amount of coins.

And don't want to give 1K.

Well, all these autoers and hacks arn't exactly recent, there were many bots and hacks in Rsc its just that recently with the update of Rs2 where there are more monsters to kill and more items that are dropped, also all the new skills that you can proffit quickly from.

1M is nothing. Back on RSC, it took me like a week to just get 100k. Now I can easily make 1M a day.

But what did such a Teuton afterwards look like when he had been "improved" and led into a monastery? Like a caricature of a human being, like an abortion: he had become a "sinner," he was in a cage, one had imprisoned him behind nothing but sheer terrifying concepts... There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. In short, a "Christian"... - Twighlight of the Idols
