if you could own jagex for a day what would you do?

I would increase the time to report abuse.

Make human npc's and player characters better. if dragons can get better graphics so should people.

make it impossible for people to use macros in non-member worlds. I'd like to cut yew trees too!

add night and day that depends on the timezone of the server location.

make member's features available to every one for free for a day (very debatable choice. we could make a subjust on this one item on my list)

You realize you couldn't possibly do that in a day. Jagex already have been testing with new player locomotions and graphics. Night and day would be redundant and hard to create for the overall effect and if you did want to create some effects or areas that could only be access at certain times it would disadvantage some players who can only get on at certain times. It is impossible to completely eradicate bots as the creators are getting better, they now have OCR and other such gimmicks to make them less detectable.

To answer your question I would take down RS and give the employees a well needed break.

I'd get rid of the word filter.

I'd shut the server down with no warnings to the players or workers so mass hysteria will happen for a day.

Ban all free players and everyone who owns less than 100m. (That's near everyone, haha.)

Perhaps...but there are a lot of ways to deter people from using macros...one being make the macro too much work. Macros rely on patterns..that can be easily programmed. All RS has to do is have the sandwich lady have, say 30 different options that are interchangable. Then do that for all the random...add more options that don't always show up. Then change what that randoms say, keeping the same meaning of course, but still making it so the macro doesn't recognize it. The language thing has worked will and if Jagex opens up somemore of those they can definately compartmentalize the randoms. Jagex should also have more skiller player mods...in F2P especially because I see macros all the time 10 or 12 to a tree. Lastly, more server updates. Things that break the macro program beyond the game...say an "update" every night at 2:00 A.M., when most macros are working and most cheaters are asleep (2:00 AM my time I guess as that is when the updates usually are.)

If macroers have to spend 1, 2, or 5 hours a day updating there program or resetting it...all of a sudden it doesn't look as appealing as the 5 minutes they used to have to spend ever four days. Also, putting some lvl 30-40 monsters on some of the yew places would definately keep the 3-5 lvl macroers out...one hit and they are done...chances are if they have to train combat on top of wcing...they will fold too much work.

But Jagex won't do this...and I'll tell you why. Macroers keep the prices of needed items down for members. That is the truth...if the demand for yews was at it is with just real players...the price of yews would be 400-600 easy, and above game integrity in Jagex's line of work, is money...and that is why we have 10-12 macroers to one tree in draynor in a F2P world...

Macroers were only made in the first place because getting raw materials is so monotonous and slow. It's peasant's work which the rich just don't want to do, if raw materials were easy to obtain you wouldn't have the problem in the first place. I don't mind macroers as long as the stay F2P and don't try to sell raw materials for more than there worth.

I would make all my skills at 99, get every skillcape, get 4Billion, Get every armour set that's good, give me a Jagex Crown, and make it be permanent, and then that's it. 8)

Buy a lot of new servers.

Improve the forums and allow them to use BBCode, but I still wouldn't use them. :P

I would change the punishment system for members around to make a bit of a three strike policy that's entirely dependent on the amount of skill points they have. They only have 1 strike if they have less then 400 skill points - meaning, if they break a rule, they are banned.

If they have 400 - 900, they get 1 warning and a 2 week ban, then a permanent banning. 900 - 1300, they get 2 warnings; a 1 week then a 2 week ban, and so on.

This way, I figure that the mature players are allowed to be more responsible people and awarded for their time and efforts with character security.

Here's the beauty of my idea. If they're reported, the action is taken (1 week banning) in half an hour and it says that the person had been reported for breaking rule # whatever. They have the ability to appeal this offense if they are wrongly accused, and if they were, perhaps by a long-shot, Jagex will also know who reported them and send the strike against the reporter for misuse of customer support. This way, instead of reading over someone's offense twice, they only have to do it once, saving lots of time! And there's no permanent muting!

Plus, if they're only temporarily banned for something they DID do, they can take some time to get off of Runescape, socialize in the real world, or have the time to get their character back if its been hacked or something without fear of losing items. A win-win situation!

... anyways, yeah, that's what i'd do.

I would:

-Change the word filter
-Make myself a Jagex Mod
-And make a rule stating "If you do not log onto your account after "x" amount of days your account will be deleted.
-Also I would go to Yews in F2P and ban all those noobs that are using bots.

Actually altering the word filter may be a good thing. There should be a button on the options toolbar that controls the word filter. Adding a word filter would keep people from getting in trouble if you say a bad word. However rule#1 would still apply because nobody wants to hear racist remarks when playing runescape. settings for the word filter would be strict(100%filteration), moderate(some filteration), and low(little to no filteration). Parents would also be able to control the player's word filter. If they know thier child's username they can set the filter to moderate or strict (however they see fit). After set, the word filter can't be changed ingame. Changing it would require a pin number set by the parent's.

I would
*Put some muggers by all the yew and willow trees.
*Set up a program that would delete players if they have not logged in for 365 days.
*Increase the number of people working customer sapourt.
*Introduce IP banning (2 banned accounts, IP ban)
*Give an order to finish dragon armor
*Remove all warnings on Alex 43 and make him a P MOD
*Have a group of 10 people go to every world once a day and 3 day ban any potential macroers.
*Fix the bank pin so ALL the numbers disappear.
*Open RSC up to everyone again.
*Work on the censor.
