A Little Out of the Blue?

This was the orignial thread I made in the RS Forums, until a Forum Mod went on a Locking Spree and locked it.

I have read the Behind the Scenes - November Addition just recently, maybe 10 mins ago.

I think that the release date,a dn the time Jagex released it is a little bit out of the blue. By out of the Blue, I mean that they didn't give it hints, and Construction has come out a few months ago.

I, myself is a little dissapointed now.

The next skill/magic addition I thought was going to be Summoning/Necromency. Now in my head I'm thinking that Summoning may be in a couple years for us.

Back on the Hunting Topic.

Way back when, (I tried to find the news article, but couldnt find it)They said that they would release Construction. This was a very long time ago. A rumor had it that It would come out on new years. Fianlly, it released on May 31, 2006. 6 months ago.

From January to May, that's 4 months and even earlier then, when Jagex first said the release of the new Construction skill.

Now, in the November Behind the Scenes, they said that Hunting will come out the end of the month, probably Thanksgiving. Now i'm thinking "Hunting is probably going to come up short." That means that the hunting skill will most likely be a, yes I will say it, a DUD.

Well they didn't hint at it probably because of the poll they put out a few months ago about how much people would like to know about future updates. 24 415 People, 45%, said they wanted to know everything as soon as possible.

It can't come out on Thanksgiving, it past... If you mean since their saying its coming out at the end of the month they just started making it and it will be incomplete and suck when it comes out, thats not true. There were hints a long time ago that it was going to come out. It accidentally being on the scroll list of skills on the reporting bug pages, on the hiscores Runecrafting is table 21 then construction table 23, no table 22, etc.

Hunting was a suggestion. I remember reading it in the suggestions on the Official Forums sometime in 2005.

American Thanksgiving and Canadian Thanksgiving aren't the same day.

It's not past in USA

Jagex always have a skill on the burner. With the release of the newest poll (that only noobs vote in). 37% Came out as wanting a new skill. Jagex thought, here is a crowd pleaser, give them 'Hunter' (should be Hunting IMO)

I think it will be too rushed and won't come out well.

Jagex was actually planning to release construction AND summoning two or three years ago. I see your point clearly; they mention something about a skill that comes up two years later and one of them hasn't even came out yet, then Jagex suddenly announces a skill that will be released in less than a month's time. I also think that they're going a liitle bit overboard with thier new updates and don't focus on the unfinished tasks that were started a really long time ago.

Yes, they are working on graphics too much and don't have time to make any decent quests/updates.

Well, I'm sure they have been working on it for a long time considering they're adding new areas and equiptment. They probably just didn't tell people about it. I honestly think they should just stop adding so many skills so quickly altogether, I mean we have enough the way it is and they take long enough to lvl up anyway..

Don't want them to start adding lame skills just because they ran out of good ideas.

Yeah, that's why I'm not too surprised. I'm just disappointed since it really doesn't look that interesting..

yeah i remember that, there was a big roar back then that it was gonna come out that week.
