Jagex says they will not provide evidence of bot or macro detection to you because it would help avoid being detected, so difficult to know what evidence they 'think' they hold against you.

I know that if I am doing something pretty mundane, yes like wc, I would make pretty much the same actions for quite a long period of time and autoing could I suppose be short-term, just switched on for a specific task. I usually play with even friends chat off most of the time as I was getting too many requests, and often only have on clanchat, even if none of the clan online.

In your appeal all you can say is (assuming it to be true) that you do not and never have autoed, therefore politely request they take a closer look at their supposed evidence, as you do not believe it will stand investigation. But very politely!!!

Oh man... that stinks man, unless you really did auto at some point then you got what you deserved. But I would like to think your telling the truth about never autoing. If you did not auto then I hope you get your account back.

What I think would help to show that your not autoing is to talk to people. Even just a little " Hello " to a stranger walking by, could help to show your not autoing. GoodLuck

****, I just had public chat turned off for several days  Better turn it back on, no matter how annoying the other people are. But I usually speak to people in clan chat, so I guess everything's alright. Good luck on getting your account back, it's really bad if stuff like that can happen.

What don't people realize is that this has NOTHING to do with private chat on or off. Jagex analyzes click patterns to detect bots. Talking has nothing to do with it. If you were banned for this, I can safely assume you were autoing. Sorry

Heyyyyy Jagex never makes mistakes you were definately macroing.

Oh, wait... nvm.

Honsetly, have trust in people for their word unless you have anything on them that suggests otherwise. XD The fact that Jagex banned him means nothing but they thought he was macroing. Unless their systems are 100% perfect, which I don't think they are.

How would you feel the day you are banned for something you didn't do (after all the work and hours put into your account) and everyone around you is saying there is no chance you didn't do it because of Jagex's decision?

I also really don't understand why you don't have a chance to appeal macro bans. Obviously you should be denied the oppurtunity if it's just "sorry sorry I made a really stupid decision i regret it now", but to deny the chance to appeal on the basis a mistake was made is like saying "WE NEVER MAKE MISTAKES BECAUSE WE ARE NOT HUMAN".

The same thing happened to me, My cuz was over and we sort of "Nerded it out" quite a lot with our prvt and public chat off becuz we where getting 99 hunter.

I tried to appeal and they declined it.
And if you get banned for macroing it never expires...what a shame

Think of it this way if you are being banned for autoing, what is there to say if you were to appeal it? "Oh I don't auto I promise" how could Jagex even think to believe a majority of the players being 13-16. So if you could appeal an auto there is nothing that you could say to get it reversed.

I have never heard of Jagex banning someone who didn't macro.

If you would have read my post I stated that there is absolutey nothing you can say to them that will reverse it. I don't care whether or not you used a macro or not I am only telling you the truth.

There's plenty reason to appeal it. For one, it shows you at least care about your account if you're going to make the effort to appeal (unless the appeal is "plz unban me"). I think a lot of people wouldn't appeal it they really were autoing because of that mindset.
It also gives a real person a chance to look at the evidence, as it's likely he was caught by an automated system and automatically banned without review. Although Jagex automates appeals too so I guess it wouldn't make any difference, but I think they're making an effort to reform that, especially since it actually took sometime for my last appeal to be looked at (after the new system). Comparing that to the denied-in-three-minutes of my password scamming perm ban appeal...

In the appeal you can provide figures to combat any possible evidence they have against you. Like how many hours a day you averaged recently, the reason (e.g. a site competition), why it is possible to play that much, what made you allowed to play that much, why it would be impossible for you to have been macroing (but if there is no ignorance to macro programs, it shows you know how they work and means you probably used one before). I suppose the times you were able to play and why you would play yourself and why you would play RuneScape during that period rather than something else.

I suppose there's lots more to say to prove your innocence but I have not yet needed to. The contract I agreed to when I joined was that the account would remain thier property, but I would be allowed to play on it as long as I followed their terms. But I don't think threatening to sue them for general damages/breaking contract law is a good idea, especially since you probably wont and I'm sure they would be able to find something else you infringed in the terms to justify banning you. XD
