I hate the new trading. I actually quit because of it. It eliminates helping people out, or striking a deal with someone. Wasn't a well thought-out action on Jagex's part.
As much as I hate it, Jagex didn't really have much of a choice.
So many people were real life trading. And there were so many bots. I'm a wcer, and everytime I was at magics, there would be at least 2 or 3 bots.
The flax fields would be FULL of them.
I'm sure there were plenty of other places where bots were taking over, but all I do is wc, so that's all I saw.
It was really ruining the rs economy.
They had to do something, but I wish there was some way around it.
Hmm but I think I'd rather just deal with the bots and be able to give my friends gifts though.
I don't see how anyone can say Jagex didn't have a choice. Of course they had a choice, and they took the easier 'Nuke now, fix later' method.
Sure, there were issues. I'm not ignorant enough to think bots weren't around and that they didn't do anything. I remember seeing them everywhere in F2P areas on both members and F2P worlds. I don't see, however, the HUGE impact that they were causing on the RuneScape economy.
I hate the gold farmers as much as the next guy, but I don't think it was *that* big of a deal. If you were a moron and couldn't take the time or effort to get money in RuneScape, go ahead and buy the money. The worst you could do is over-buy some item and cause the price to go up. Whoop-de-do.
