Are you against item lending?

I like your idea about trying something out before buying it. Never thought about that aspect. Like trying out a phat to see if you really want to spend all that time saving for something that gives no bonus and sits on your head. Don't get me wrong I want a phat like no other! :mrgreen:

a phat is a waste of time i would never spend money on one, but borrowing one would be sweet but hopefully they just remember not to let ppl borrow food or potions or anything that can be used up b/c then it would be like giving them it

I'm glad to see item lending in the future, but having an option where you could give gifts would be nice too .. but I don't see a way to stop real world traders from 'giving gifts' either, so heck with that. :roll:

I didn't even think about lending food and potions. I bet money they mess up (if not completely, then in some places, regarding some items) and forget to not allow lending of usable items.

yeah, but only if they allow rares so that people with the most money they've ever had being 100k can go around saying I'm rich cus I'm wearing a phat!

If they put a little thing above your head saying your item lending then I'm all for it.

It might be cool, but I'm probly one of the only people who will be against the lending of rares. What's the point of working for one of my own if I can simply have one 'lended' to me?

What about dieing? I don't want to give my whip or w/e to a friend who will take it and die with it in Bounty Hunter or wherever.

There would have to be limits to what one could do with lended items.

Also the problem is that item lend will put down all the holiday item because what the point of buying a p hat to show off when some1 borrows it off their friends. Also prepare for loads of lv 3's with p hat..

there are good and bad point bout item lending but in the end i think it will work out well

I'm fine with it as long as there isn't widespread begging from players without friends to borrow from.

Your arguement that it will stop merching stuff doesn't really stand up in todays runescape since the grand exchange and balanced trade has made merchanting very difficult.

Your other arguement about the taking away from the challenge of getting these items doesn't really stand up either since item lending is only a limited time only thing.

I am not against item lending because sometimes one of my friends needs an item for a quest and they can't get it because it's over 3k value.

People need certain items which are hard to get for a quest, and if item lending does come out then they can use that item to finish the quest.

It would be a good if they made you have to lend them an item to. Sort of like I have an item worth 1m and you have 2 500k items, we can "lend to eachother" since our items would be equal price.

But then its really just a temporary trade.

Im kind of confusing myself but it would be good if they put limits to balance it. We'll proably be seeing lots of fake bank pictures now though lol.

to avoid being killed by a mod, the lending system isn't necessary; you should earn things yourself and be independent. thats likely one of the points of drop trading having been illegal back when you were able to. and "rares" are worthless in the first place, so who cares if a level 3 is wearing one. socalled "skillers" used to wear them at level 3 and insult all the level 100+ with them all the time. so how will it have changed? it wont. and prices wont' change because people wont lend their party hat or mask out to someone very often because they bought them for themselves. unless they're retarded and bought like 6 santas (coughtiduscough :wink:

), they're not going to just let someone wear it any time any place.

I think it is a great idea, because when the trade limit came we couldn't lend stuff to our friends, so this new update will make us share all kind of items to our friends
