Words that should be uncencored

Hitler, Nazi, and phone should be uncensored. These are highly unreasonable
As for retarded, I have a friend who's kid is like that and it is very offending to her.

My name splled incorrectly, and "nuts". Im sure a number of us say "Aw nuts" when we blunder, but it censors and makes it saw "Aw ****", which can be easily translated into something completely different.

Ryan, some people are very sensitive germans. It was an absolute nightmare back then, and no one wants reminding of the past. So I disagree with all the words you said; even "phone". The reason Jagex censored "phone" is so people can't ask "Hey, what's your phone number? I wanna hear your real voice." Granted, they'll get reported anyways for asking for personal information, but you still got those idiots out there who trust them enough to actually GIVE their phone numbers, and next thing you know we got a mysterious assassination on 54 Granite Drive (totally made up location). So no.

I also don't think Jagex want MSN uncensored because they have no control over what people say on MSN. Again, they want safety for their players, so they build all these filters and rules, but if people are able to give away their MSN addresses, then they could break all these rules, get away with it, and all heck breaks loose after that. It would totally negate all safety measures they built in. So MSN is also a no-go.

... at least, that's what Mod Bennett told me ...

MSN is blocked because of asking for personal details, there's no censor on MSN so any "smart" person would ask for that before trying to get anything more crucial. Google is blocked for Advertising. (I.E. Go to Google and search for *cheating forum name here*")

Personally I don't see the issue; ask friends to phone you through MSN? Surely you won't be giving out your Phone Number to friends you only know through RS.

The censor is fine apart from the mistakes it makes, which is mainly due to the censor having to be "fixed" to remove variants of bad words because people look for ways around them; If you're trying to get around the censor to say bad words then it reinforces the fact that the censor is needed anyway. Swearing and profanity aren't required to speak on Runescape, and although words like Hitler and Nazi may not offend someone like you, that doesn't mean others won't. I know Germany is very touchy about that subject.

I can kinda agree with phone. Me personally, calling someone a retard is offensive in real life and in game. Nazi and Hitler shouldn't be uncensored due to a lot of racist people in the world and someone people would want that censored and no offense to anyone who thinks otherwise.

Yes, I suppose Jagex has a good reason for every word blocked. There are some naive people who might just give their phone number out to anyone. If I were german, I might also find those things offensive, although I hardly see anyone using them as a direct insult to Germans.

Well i think they uncensor lots off dutch words. Sometimes its very difficult to communicate whit freinds.
