nice suggestions, but how do you recognize pure iron ore from normal iron? :P

Pure iron ore will be recognisable via the name, and the ore/rock itself will be completely brown. (the dark brown, not the light brown which appears with all ore)

Nice suggestions Anubis, but I think some of them are just a little too good.

Jagex would probably want to switch the times on the rocks up, making it able to be mined for 30 minutes and a cooldown of an hour.

I like the new pickaxe ideas too, those would be nice.

The quest looks good also. The only thing that concerns me is the armour has a high strength bonus. Sure it would be nice to have such a large bonus, but I don't think Jagex will make it with such a large bonus.

I worked it out that smithing is exceptionally hard to get to 99, even to 88, so I made it so the bonus would give a major incentive to train it, and mining respectively.

However, I have thought about this and I will drop each bonus on the sets by 33%.

3 for each for steel/mith.
7 for each for mith/addy.
10 for each for addy/rune.

Sound better? ^^

Not a fan of these ideas, sorry. The way I see it, the market for ores/bars/armour is the way it is because of the limited amount of smithers/miners. Mining and smithing are hard skills to raise. They cost alot of money or alot of time. Either way, youre not going to catch someone who cant be bothered with 99 mining/smithing. Giving people more incentive to mine is going to make all the mines crowded, adding a new mine that youre able to mine coal in like Rune Ess will make the price for it go down and the price for Iron go up. Not to mention making pure Iron is useless. What do you use it for other than making steel? Coal is the valuable one and it should stay that way, its valuable because its hard to get because of the demand, and also because you need it for everything. You need coal to make every type of bar other than bronze, and you need those bars to make armour. Messing with the ores and mines will screw over the economy.

The picks, I dont think they need improving. If you want gems, mine more or buy them. Thats the element of chance which makes the gems more valuable. If you want cheap gems just mine them at the Tai Bwo Wannai Village. The way I see it a Dragon Pick will be coming out eventually anyway, judging by the release of past Dragon items. Mining just has to wait its turn, who cares if dragon stuff isnt made by dwarfs? I dont think dragon stuff is made by Gnomes either, and woodcutters have the axe now.

As far as the alloys go, who needs them? Just make the economy more unstable than it already is in my opinion. People get along fine with the armour that can already be smithed, and for those people who want something better they can work hard and raise the money to get Full Drag or Barrows or something. Its not difficult. The games designed so people have to work harder for better stuff. Technically anyway.

I dunno, I just dont think any of this stuff is necessary.
