When did I say you wouldnt be able to send a ban appeal? You can send ban appeals now, you'd be able to send mute appeals and tradeblock appeals if this was implemented.

But the trade-block thing? That's stupid... He gets a 1 month trade-block, so he spends on month on combat training;mining;whatever. The next month, he Real World Trades, gets another 1 month block. I'm not seeing how that helps.

Then they get a permanent trade-block, obviously. Just like now, you can get a temp ban or a permaban, you could have a temp trade-block, or a permanent trade block.

Also, to be restricted to simply training skills and walking around instead of being banned...sounds like a living Hell.

I personally wouldnt care too much if I was muted. I hardly ever talk anyway. And as for trading, sure, I'd get annoyed, but I'd get used to it. There are players who have never traded with anyone, I'm sure, and still have millions.

If you take away the censor, people will begin to curse profusely.

Those who swear profusely get muted. The point is, instead of making it impossible to swear, a culture of no swearing should be taught. That would make people better people outside of game as well.

Thank you. Banning people will just make them spiteful towards Jagex. Teaching them to not break the rules is always better.

And this could be good for Jagex, too, not just the players who would have otherwise been banned. A banned p2p player is unlikely to go back and pay for the game again, but mute them or trade-block for a while, and they will keep playing.

If you log in in the ban appeal section, and you see what you've done wrong, and you see if it's appealable, and sometimes it isn't.

Now, like haysta said, let them just punish people with those 3 elements, and then have zero tolerance with them, even if they say noob, ban them, even if they try to scam, ban them, even if they are installing a auto program, BAN THEM, they've had their chance.

And about the filter, i would just filter offensive words like the f-word , the s-word, but not like dam*, or something like it.

I know who the guy was, i know why he got banned and he deserved it.

He was the richest guy in rs, now if he was willing to sell items - whos to say he wasn't willing to BUY them as well? He lost all my respect for what he'd acheived the moment he sold items, makes him untrusty and he got what he deserved.

People deserve to be banned, taking away there highscores ranks because they auto? Lmao, they just auto for money, not for ranks.

Your ideas don't and wont work. Banning is affective all t here hard work goes down the drain and so it should. Make room for the dedicated hard working players like myself.

Amen.
I mean, if I had just been scammed, and I log on the next day to see the scammer private messaging: " Hi noob!" I would be P-O'ed.

I don't believe people should get perma banned for things like item scamming or offensive language, since they can make a new acc and break rules again.

But things like rwi trading and asking for personal details I think should be enforced A LOT more. heym I know someone (can't and won't name names) who's managed to get away with that for at least 7 months. That alone I think prooves jagex aren't strict enough with their rules.

People get banned because jagex believes they are ruining the game, in a way, they are correct, but simply banning doesnt stop people from breaking certain rules.

I bet you'd hate it, if someone scammed you. You reported them, but Jagex decides to give them a 2nd chance, it's better for Jagex to take a tough stance on rule breakers than to be lenient. Rules are made for a reason. He was pretty stupid to risk his account and his rep over some real life cash.

I think it is good for the guy...now he can play WoW and actually make money for himself...when you break rules you take risks...there is no guarantee that this was his first time buying or selling either. Maybe Jagex has a list of him cheating...you don't know. We all probably have taken risks at some time in the game...the thing to realize as with real-life is that you are responsible for those risks. If you break rules there is no one else to blame, but yourself when you get caught.

The game has its rules for a reason...follow them and you will never have to worried about getting banned.

YEAH I AGREE.

Let me whip out my Autominers so i can make a **** load of money and then sell it on the internet while getting a big advantange than the other players.

The moron broke a rule, he got what he deserved. If you don't want to get banned, follow the rules.

And also if jagex didn't ban anyone, i'm scared to imagine what RS would be like.

Vortex you are a Genius. We still need to having banning though, there are occasional cases where people will continue to break the rules.

If a dog starts biting people, but a muzzle on it. Take it off after awhile and see if he has learned his lesson. If he has then let him be free, if he hasnt put it back on, until he has learned his lesson.

Maybe there are some situations in which people deserve to be banned, but 99% of the time, they dont. As you said, put a muzzle on the dog. There is no need to kill it. If you take the muzzle off and they havent learnt their lesson, you simply put the muzzle back on.

And again, I agree, punishments should only be temporary, not permanent, unless they keep reoffending. However, it might be an idea to make the temporary punishments longer, for example a 1 month mute, rather than just 3 days or so.

If we look at real life, the whole Criminal Justice system aims more at rehabilitation than other things, and it should be the same in RuneScape. Forget the banning, try and teach people to obey by the rules. You dont give someone a life sentence for stealing a loaf of bread. You give them a small sentence, or a fine, then teach them not to steal again.

I think only events as big as that of Durial, who exploited a bug which allowed him to attack players outside of the wildy, should result in the banning of players, but even then im not so sure. The fact he got the party hat, and a few other things, is the only thing that really says "ban him" to me. If he had exploited the bug, and just killed a couple of people, but not actually caused much damage, then if it were up to me, I would just put a trade-block or a permanent mute on him (or both). It is, after all, Jagex's fault that the bug is there.

Creepy, banning works, yes, but it annoys the sh*t out of everyone in the process.

There are some situations were dogs are too wild and have to be put down.

It annoys people? Well it should... If your breaking the rules, I hope you get annoyed.

Agreed. :?
All I can say is I hope they soften the language filter a bit... Taking it off completely would cause a fair bit of chaos, even if they just had an option to turn it on/off. Everything else you've said goes both ways for me, so I don't care.
If you want peace of mind, forget about other people, just care about yourself and make sure you follow the rules.

Ditto. While I can see some benefits to the idea, RS would become anarchy pretty soon - swearing everywhere, people still playing despite being scammed, etc.

Just my 2 shillings....

It comes down to this folks:

He knew the rules, and decided to break them. To add to that, he was a "trusted agent" of Jagex, therefore the penalty should be more severe.

Sorry, but if you know what you are doing is against the rules and the possible consequences that can happen if you are caught, too bad.

Being a Player Moderator, i think i can officially call you an idiot. I mean - no offense or anything, but that's one of the worst ideas i've ever heard of in my life.

1. Duke deserved what he got.

2. You can't be banned for saying "Noob", no matter how many times you say it, so don't keep saying this rediculous statement to make your ideas better.

3. You can't be banned for saying ashes are 100k, unless you say "Rare ashes are 100k."

It might be possible if you were spamming the chat box (closet rule), but you would have to do it alot....and I mean alot.
