I would assume to get a perm. ban you would have to do something pretty bad...same with a perm mute.

This isn't like using a macro, i doubt there's a 100 percent way of proving they used one because you'd have to go to there house and look on there pc.

I'd imagine a perm mute is more to do with her language and such, they arent just going to do it if she said one or two naughty words but would do if she had been CAUGHT a lot of times swearing.

Jaqex accused her of trying to ask somebody's password
but i'm really sure she didn't do it because i had the same situation
i was talking with somebody about the way hackers make their victims believe their beautiful tales.
here's my story:i was talking about that horrible phrase that hackers use to hack others-hey look jaqex blocked my pass ****** see?!
that's the phrase i told and some jerk added me and said that he earned a lot of cash with that trick and he threatned me that if i won't pay him he will report me. i said no to him and he said ok lol
guess what i was banned but i wrote a ban appeal and i was unbanned within few minutes

Why get a 99 quickly when you can enjoy the skill for a longer time and make a lot of money in the process?

I find it really unfortunate that she got perm. muted. You have to think about it like this though. It really was her fault in the first place, I don't think Jagex would make that big a mistake to perm. mute someone unless they are certain that they deserved it. If she is telling you Jagex did it because they thought she was asking for someone's password, she is probably not telling the truth. She must of done something really bad to get this kind of a punishment.

Ya, but no trading or anything. You can work on skills but that is about it. Pretty hard to communicate in runescape without talking. :(

Are you banned from speaking to your friend too? Thats really harsh, I don't think I could survive.

I guess I should be banned since I was like 2 years ago. I was reported, a message comes to me saying that they will not take action now but have the right to do so in the future. I think I had the same messages 5 times. Also other people start reporting me for various reasons. The main thing is that I'm not breaking the rules but why am I still playin the game now like I was yesterday?

Now I cant think if jagex is picking on people but if you do get banned I suggest that u just keep apealing a bann until everything is sorted.

I've never even got a warning... let a lone banned. Of course i never implicitly offend anyone and I follow the rules. I know many people who did not even read the rules. Anyway, We are in public and people should act accordingly.

You do know everything you type on rs can be logged - fact is I'm sure it is. It's like any other public forum or chatroom. I'm sure when someone reports a issue Jagex examines the logs then investigates. Personally If i were them I'd scan the logs nightly for buzz words and then scrutinize what's being said.

I do think thier security system has some holes in it and they should find a way to protect people from being hacked into ... it's not only in the customer's interest but also thiers.

I have a friend who was banned for foul language - which I happen agree she uses on occassion - needs to watch her temper too - and account sharing - her son sometimes used it for cw and stuff - anyway she was banned for 2 weeks then got the account back (unlocked).

She was behaving herself and right after christmas, was banned again for account sharing. Even after making sure her son would not log onto it... she told me they banned the account for 5 years (like she'd be playing for 5 years;-) - but after talkiing to a mod friend had it reduced to one year. I find that hard to believe.

She started over again with a new account - very much a bummer going from a lvl 102 with a total over 1500 - but she's got it up to a lvl 57 with a 1000 total now... not bad for a months work.

'foul language' pfft...

A word is a word, there are other words which arent 'foul' which mean exactly the same thing, yet we can say them without getting banned .

My friend got muted.. he uses emotes a lot now. :P
