GF, well, not really.

Well recently I've been playing Castle Wars alot since I lost all my tickets when I lost membership and retired for a year. (Lost bout 400+ tickets by the way)

So its just like every usual game. I go in, find a target and begin my assault. I kill some guy (level 102) and as he falls he says GF. At first I didn't know what that meant so I continued on like every other game. I meet the guy again and we started to fight. Again he falls saying GF. So I message him to find out what this "GF" is and he explains to me it means good fight. So I was like, "Oh, thats cool just another new saying." It wasn't until a few games later until I realised how much I hate the term "GF". I continued on with my killing with every victim saying "GF", until I met my match in the form of a level 104. So were going at it for about 2-3 minutes and then 3 of his teammates come to help him. The teammates were about level 80-90. So in the end I end up dead because of this piling and and all the lower level players say things like "lol GF", "owned", and "dead nub".

Now I'm thinking how is this a "GF"? More like a good pile than a fight. So why is it that lower level players think of themselves highly when they kill you with the aid of a high level? (high level meaning someone closer to your level)

I bet none of those players could've "owned" me ina 1 on 1 so why gloat when you're able to kill someone with the aid of 3-4 other people?

Just a little rant on how many players are just plain annoying.

Well people generally say it out of a sign of respect, if I get piled by two 80's (I'm 103) and they kill me, I like to give them a feeling of achievement because they killed a significantly higher leveled character.

It's really just a saying that's caught on, it's not new eaither, it was around in classic.

I think different people interpret "gf" differently, whilst it might not be offensive, some people may take it to be so.

Its not just "GF" its other terms such as "owned" or "pwned". And I would commend any level 80 that can kill me, but not if they need a level 104 to help them do it. :roll:

Owned and pwned tend to be more disrespectful, like they are rubbing it in your face.

That's why I never use those terms.

I usually say Gf only if it's actually a good fight. Even when there's like 3 people on me I'd still consider it to be a gf since it's becoming more like a challenge I need to beat.

Now if it was like 3 120+ players fighting me at once it probably wont be categorized as a Gf, It'd be more like a slaying.

Noobs whenever they're in teams and such think they're superior to higher levels, sometimes there are some but most noobs would think that just because they slayed you then they're overall better.

I hope you don't have too many bad encounters when returning, always remember that there are still some intelligent people left in Runescape, all you have to do is find them...

i've taken up dueling a lot recently, and i know how you feel... regardless of the scenario, certain players will always say "gf", or "owned" or "lol noob" or something stupid like that. even if they barely win, an insult is required, disregarding the fact that i'm practically wearing dragonhide (void) for defense, and my offensive stats are **** to begin with, or that they had to make several restrictions to win, etc.

on the chance that i shred them in under 5 hits, they still say "GF", which is stupid, because obviously it wasn't a good fight if one of us just failed epically. when this happens, i'll usually type either "no, that was pathetic" if i won, or "you blind?" if i lose. obviously, my idea of a good fight, (both players on about the same level hitting well, could be anyone's game) differs greatly from other peoples. (complete ego crushing victory, or getting slaughtered and calling it a good fight to try to pass the loss off as nothing).

I hate it too, there's a lot of irate players (typically in the mid-range of 70-90) who will always try to make themselves look even more superior by making derogative remarks like "lol gf" or "owned", regardless whether or not you're on 20 hp when they start fighting you, or if you're being attacked by a group of six.

It's really just the kind of thing you should expect from the majority of runescape players in these semi-large battlegrounds.

a lot of people use (GF) in the duel arena but in CW that's odd and your right there are a lot f people that really whana kill some1 so they clam to has ownd you when they only helped a little or they say it as in are team ownd you

I hate it, when a level 131 runs up to me with his bandos godsword and plate armour, whacks me with special and kills me, saying "GF",well it's not a good fight, good fight is a fair fight, good fight is an equal fight...

And it happend to me that random#generator was friendly to me so I whacked a 130 (godsworder) to death in duel arena, he went saying "you potted/eat/noob*... rematch!!@@@ *whines*", seriously, that's such a childish attitude
*I always pray with verac, potting is a waste of money to me.
