Is Runescape the center of getting seriously owned?

I felt like watching some people get owned on Youtube because I ... er ... well, I was bored. So sue me. What I did was I searched for "owned" and got hardly anything interesting that I haven't seen before.

So I tried something a little more extreme and searched for "seriously owned", and boy was I surprised. Almost a quarter of the movies that came up were all to do with Runescape! Getting owned in the wilderness, clan wars, dagannoth kings, Zezima explusives, and even the Sea Troll battle at Piscatoris! Every page had something to do with Runescape!

Out of all those, I rarely found anything World of Warcraft or anything like that in other games. It was strange, so I decided to ask you all.

Is it just so easy to get "OWNED" in Runescape and record it that this is actually all possible? What do you think?

nah i think ppl use that word to much on rs like u get killed afer hard fight hit to hit and ppl goes like - omfg he got owned rolf!! even then ur teamed up like by 20 pplz in the end u die they usually goes like- omfg we just owned other noob ha ha ha! and stuff like that i just say ppl at rs uses that word to much and mostly this word is used by new guys i must admit i use it to but seriuosly in rs geting owned is prety hard since u cant just like get 1 hited by other ppl or by monsters ( i aint counting in jad and metals

).

If we check other word noob i guess u find even more of vids like lvl 70s (also just a rondom number) calling pplz that kills them noobs either then get killed by somebody they also call them noobs or then u do something that make these 70s (i just toked rondom number no ofence) to kill u fast they go like - omg noob eatter it doesnt matter they ate whole inv while u ate 1 fish :roll:

and i could continue for hours but its of topic so ill quit at this point.

p.s if u 100+ and whant to be called noob 1 bill times visint f2p clan war best place to be called noob

if everyone was "owned", wouldnt that make everyone just "defeated"? the word "owned" is getting a bit old =/

Becaaaauuuse... Umm.. Guess owning someone is a bigger deal in rs than in games like Wow. In wow it's like.. k, killed mmy 356th person today but in rs its like 'W0000t uber elite pwnge just got full addy and rune mace FROM UBER NUB PWNGE!!!!!!!!!!'

I think theres generally more runescape than lots of other games all over youtube, mostly because it is browser based, very very simple to run a screen capturer over, everything is just a ton easier than say wow. And with a big game, screen capture software will really eat u your cpu which could hurt, but runescape has such low sys req's in the first place it doesn't matter so much - hence more vids.

yes i think that most ppl that play mmorpgs play rs so there for there is more vids on youtube about rs and + what he said dotn need a disk to play

Youtube is owned by Google. I bet they have an enormous file of things you like and dislike. I also bet that they integrated that to the search engines they got.

But that's just my theory.

Well personally I think that "owned", "noob" and other random slang are the consequence of having a very young population playing that is immature and thinks that insulting someone they don't know and could possibly be on the verge of a breakdown or something is perfectly alright. These people need to learn that even though they're saying insulting things over million of miles that they can still hurt whoever is receiving them.

Ok..I think there are so many runescape videos because it's so easy to make them.
It doesn't require and smarts at all :\

That's why I don't use the word owned. I use downed, and I only use it in the appropriate times like when I'm getting flammed and I ko the kid. But if hes respectful and I ko, I'll say Good Fight spelled out.

I think that's probably the most accurate statement on this thread. heh.

RuneScape not the center of getting owned. It's probably best to describe it as a noob-magnet. Those kinds of people who like to excessively use the word owned, leet and the such are attracted to the game, and so we'll find that on places like youtube, 99% of all RuneScape videos will have a titles like, "i owned j00" and "1337 pk mishun".

I can't remember the last time I said "Owned!" It's sort of lost it's meaning.

Now the majority of people who say it are pretty much stupid immature kids who think they rule because they killed someone in Castle Wars with 20HP left.

People in Castle Wars always say owned when they kill me even though its usually 5 against me.... :roll:
