Jagex's not criticized only for the updates. They're criticized for EVERYTHING that happens to a player. My example:

Little billy is going to test Runescape HD.
Its working fine but laggy.
He wants to test fullscreen. He gets a BSOD meanwhile because he has no anti-virus, firewall, he's ultra infected and he's on Windows ME.

Who's fault is it? JAGEX!

Billy said:
"OMG JAGEX Gave me BSOD i r quit rs kause i can't play this super lag game and i have super speed dial up connection so its jagex fault
I r make utube vid to say i quit but cants cause jagex gave me virus"

EDIT: I'm not pro-jagex or against jagex. This is just an example, please don't take it the wrong way :(

This is a tough topic for me. Good news first. I think Jagex does a great job with their updates. I think it's great the company cares and wants to improve the game more. They have done a very good job so far. Now the bad news. Some of these updates have caused dramatic upheavals in different areas and have angered many people (including me at times). Now yes, I did say they have done a good job, but sometimes, the updates haven't been to my liking. The most recent example is the price nerf on the ge. It really hurt to by maple logs right before they did this. I believe I could have saved 300k or so (which is chump change to some of you) which would have been really nice. Anyways, I think Jagex does a good job for the most part, but sometimes they have some hard to swallow updates. I'd give them a pat on the back, but then stab them with a poisoned bronze dagger the minute I was done patting them on the back.
