Yes, we know that broad bolts take 55 slayer to wield now. I've seen several rants of "z0mg t3h b0lts iz t3h pha1l" Complaining about the change. The bolts had a power around addy, and they also were less than half the price, making them the most used bolts, and now half the people who used them cannot.

Do you think this is fair? And should the bolts be changed back, or kept the way they are?

Keep in mind, the bolts were made with the purpose of killing Turoths and Kurasks. When killing those 2 monsters, you have a few options. You can use a leaf bladed sword, a leaf bladed spear, broad bolts, broad arrows, or a slayer staff and slayer dart. All of those options, short of broad bolts and arrows (I think) require 55 slayer.

So, I think that what they did was FAIR, but it wasnt nice. They could have given a warning they were going to change it.

Opinions / comments / suggestions?

I'm happy with the change. They're made to be used for those slayer monsters and it's only fair that they should require the appropriate slayer level as its counterpart slayer weapons do. It gives pures slightly more of a reason to train slayer. And I can laugh at my friend who is complaining about it at the moment. :P
As you say about a warning though, I dunno. That's not the Jagex way. Giving warning would probably have resulted in the market being flooded with broad bolts and screwed over anyway. So no, not very nice, but they didn't have much choice.

Yeah I'm happy with the change too, the bolts are meant for killing turoths/kurasks so they should be used that way or at least the require the level to kill turoths. Honestly 55 slayer is not a high level and if you don't have that level you don't deserve to use broad bolts.

Well, they did give a warning with the degradation of barrows, and look what happened to that.

When Barrows was released they told everyone to not buy everything straight away given they were still going to be updating them quite a bit in the following weeks.

All I can say on the topic of the arrows is that it's a typical Jagex move. Don't warn, and don't make up for the action taken. Personally I agree with Chief. If you can't attack that with which you need the bolts for, why bother having them? Bit late on Jagex's part really.
