Bring it all back. I was in no way affected by RWT. Macros, meh, they were integrated into the economy years before the crackdown began. In fact, raw materials keep getting cheaper thanks to the Commie Exhange. Hmm...

Even Jagex has mentioned it. Macroers have been in the game since RSC. Everyone had learned to cope, though nobody truly loved the guys.

Jagex has far more paying members than macroers. Even if not, they're not exactly losing hoards of money (in the actual sense) when a rule breaker decides to commit credit fraud. They're merely losing $5 maximum (per account) along with whatever cost it would be to host that single player on a server (minuscule) and save their account data. I'm not suggesting to anyone that screwing over Jagex is a smart (albeit legal) decision, but Jagex is still making quite a pretty penny off of true members and the ads from f2p. Long story short, there would be no way that Jagex would go bankrupt from a macro problem.

However, I'd agree with the fact that they would be losing real money every month from all of the people skipping payments by using fake credit cards. Granted, they're not literally losing much money by maintaining the accounts, but the people are getting away with having memberships without paying for them.

Also, I'd just like to thank everyone for their input thus far! Glad to see people actually care about something enough to leave a comment :)

This is VERY true, they have limited our freedom to do what we have done for years...

I'd definitely say that it's not a prison. I'm not saying I don't have any fun anymore, but the fun factor has gone down quite a bit since the updates. What Jagex has done to replace what they removed is thus far pitiful, and according to nearly 3/4 people who have voted so far..I am not alone in this belief.

@Braaron - The 'edit' button is there for a reason; no need to double post

I never saw a problem with macros/gold farmers. They kept proces staeady, and it meant I never had to go out an get the items the hard way. Lazy, I know, but it's true. Sure, they sold money, but Jagex did go to far. If theperson gets caught, they get caught, if they don't, well it's not the nd of the world.
I don't like what they did, it works, it stops gold farmers maybe, but still, it's screwed up the game.

I prefer the old version, when things were well, fun.

Yeah, they never affected me either.

But we all know Jagex is a business, and they can't allow people to steal money from them.

This situation assumes that the GE would stay around, as it was released before the lockdown. People can say that this may have not happened, but having the GE has nothing to do with the lockdown anyway. It was just an improvement to the game, something that is found in several other major MMORPG's like WoW.

Ya, but in other MMO's, you set your own prices. You aren't forced to obey prices set by the game creators, because that is a simply ******* way to do things. I'm so close to quitting Runescape right now. There is almost no reason for me to keep playing. I still like some of the GOOD updates they did years ago, though.

There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. Wait, so you macro? GTFO if you do. I don't care if you only just started. Macroing is bad, no matter what the reason.

I'd have to say new runescape.

This is because: 1. I never ever pked, I found the wilderness annoying.
2. No macros and scams
3. Yew, magic logs, coal etc. now have a true value.

basically the same for me, to make money now it just takes real skills, but i wish prices didn't move so much.

You two are awesome! :p
I hated having to go into the wilderness for a clue, I'm a magnet for pkers. The revs are easier than the old pkers and it ***** me off when people complain about revs. They're the **** pkers that you were whining about assholes!
No macroers mean a nicer f2p, one without hundreds of clones running around, dodging randoms.
I used to hate scams as I wasn't really the most careful trader meaning I got scamed fairly often, once or twice a year.
I don't really enjoy insane prices of a few prices but I kind of like Jagex controling various prices and the grand exchange is my hero.

Kudos jagex, love the new, retarded pker free runescape. (for the most part)

Gold farmers helped me make big riches.

I used to make furys from chaos/death runes. These autobuyers at world 2 would sell me runes at lower prices than the average level 70. (130 each for chaos from a macroer versus 150 each for chaos from a player)

Made much more profits. Oh, even better, they usually sell me at mass quantities. Macroers sell me runes at least 5k per trade, usually they sell me 8k-10k at a time. The average player sells me runes at most 2k per trade. Mind you, I needed 33k chaos per fury.

Now without macroers, I no longer make 1m per hour, but instead a pathetic 300k per hour, and that's gathering something not everyone needs.

I prefer the NEW rs. I was getting sick and tired of seeing macros hogging all the sharks, lobsters, yews, dragons, and other materials that are major money makers for p2p and f2p.
